Our garage is on the south side of our house. Although we clean it each year we were never able to get the chalky grit off of it. We purchased this cleaner and scrubbed it with a brush and used only a hose to rinse it off. Amazing!! You can no longer see where the shutters were that we didn’t want to put back up because we bought metal awnings to put up instead. I can’t say enough good things about this cleaner. Yes you do have to put a little elbow grease into it but the results are amazing

This Renu product works great. After You’re through using this cleaner, you’re going to need Renu’s “Restore” product to protect your vinyl. If You don’t use the “restore” process, then you’re going to be cleaning your siding annually. Buy the “Restore” product. Note, These Renu products don’t do large areas. Read the application label to determine how much you will need.

It does a nice job of cleaning vinyl siding.

I purchased this product to remove oxidation on vinyl siding as indicated in the product description. However, after the initial use I found it not to be performing as indicated. I moved on to an area that had not been treated yet to make a determination if it was doing anything at all. I placed a piece of painters tape over the untreated vinyl siding and proceeded to apply the diluted cleaner as indicated on the instructions. After letting it set for the appropriate amount of time and a light brush scrub I rinsed it off and remove the tape and found that there was no difference in the treated and untreated finish of the vinyl siding. I let this area dry off, reapplied the tape, and tried using the product full strength in the same manner. After rinsing I removed the tape and again found no difference. This product may work okay on other applications, but it is not an appropriate solution for removing oxidation on vinyl siding. I would not recommend purchasing it for that purpose.

This cleaner does work to remove years of dirt and oxidation. Here are the caveats: You need to mix it stronger than what the bottle recommends. We used a 60% water to 40% cleaner solution mix. This seems to work pretty good. You have to leave it on the siding for at least 5-6 minutes and then scrub it with a medium-soft bristle brush to remove the oxidation layers. It requires some elbow grease! WEAR GLOVES! This stuff is caustic and it will irritate your skin! Rinse immediately if you get it on bare skin. We tried other stuff but this cleaner actually did the job pretty well on 20 year old siding! We will buy this again.
