I ordered this to replace a filter on the Broan Microtek System II hood I bought 28 years ago. Currently that model is listed as a ductless hood and the replacement filters listed on Amazon and other websites all have layers of charcoal. Although the dimensions are fine, they don't fit because they're too thick. When I read the negative reviews of this filter that said it was too thin, I realized it was probably exactly what I need for my DUCTED hood. So I ordered it and it's just right. Happy ending to a long, frustrating story.

Works like it should. Fits my Whirlpool exhaust hood well with tight fit... no missed coverage.

Our hood requires two filter screens, one of which we received is too thin. We plan to remove and clean this one daily, which isn't the best options but what to do?

My mistake. I removed my stove hood filter and measured the length and width and ordered these filters. They arrived and I learned that I messed up and didn't read the THICKNESS. These are thin. Like paper-plate thin and you can see right through them. I reserved one star because if you used only one of these in your stove hood, I don't think it would do anything at all. Since they came in a four-pack, I simply stacked them together and used all four. All four filters together were the same thickness as the used stove hood filter that I removed. So ... it works, but I'm using all four to make up what I thought I was ordering.

I wanted screen filters without a carbon layer so that I could simply drop them into my dishwasher to clean and reuse. This product was advertised as having 5 layers of filter screening, but the screens have only three very sparse layers that are not adequate for any kind of grease filtration. I would have returned them, but I needed them now and I could not tell from other similar products on Amazon that any were better. My solution was to stack all four of the packaged screens and place them in my Broan overhead. They all fit at the same time (they are that thin) and, together, they adequately filter grease particles. So I have a solution; it just cost me four times what I expected and I can’t cook while the screens are in the dishwasher.
