Titan ControlMax 1700 HEA Airless Paint & Stain Sprayer, Low Overspray

I am a general contractor and dont always do the painting on my remodels. When the job is smaller, I'll do it to make a little more on the job. I spent several years as a full time painter when I was younger. I'm familiar with all the fancy sprayers but couldn't justify spending that kind of money. The problem with this thing is, it works so good I keep doing the painting. Pro tips... buy the filter/swivel, part number Wagner 0580611-B / 580611. This will give you a filter at the gun to keep if from clogging, not to mention the swivel which is a must. Make sure the tips you buy start with 353- then the tip size. Example 353-517. I learned the hard way that there are tips that look the same but will not fit. Same for the hose and gun. These parts are special for this sprayer. Make sure you do your homework and find out what size tip you need for your application. The tip that comes with it is the most popular for household paints. You can usually find this on the can of paint. If not, ask. I've sprayed several houses now with this set up, including cabinets, with great results. It's not meant for the painting contractor but, for someone who occasionally needs to hose a house a house, its great

It's so hard to find a good painting gun I read so many reviews and we'll it's hard to figure which ones to buy. I was hoping I made a good decision when I bought this one because not all the reviews were great and well I was on a budget since we just bought a home. So I took the plunge crossed my fingers and bought this one. Overall it was a great decision it works great. We painted my house with this machine and it was super efficient. It was easy to clean we had paint left over not like the rental. We did our patio and the back of our house and I was shocked we still had paint left over. Not like the front of the house where we used a rental. It's a great size easy to move around. Was at a great price. Can't wait to paint my gate with this machine. We didn't have any leaks or any problems it was a great buy.

Let's be real, you will have to tape off everything you do not want paint on. I can't really tell the difference in overspray as it's still everywhere. You also are going to use a half gallon more paint on anything you do. It takes a quart to prime the pump and lines and it also wont pick up less than a quart out of the bucket. Cleaning it is also tedious. If you are painting something small it really isn't worth it, just use a brush or roller. It works well for what it is though. If you are painting the full exterior of a home or a new build. It's a great sprayer.

Very impressed at how nice a unit this is. This is my first airless sprayer and it took a little getting used to but soon provided excellent results. Instructions were very good and geared for the first timer so setup and learning was relatively painless. It is amazing that a unit this nice is this cheap - I have since used some "high end" sprayers and other than some nice to have features, this Titan does an equally good job and is as easy to use. Don't let anyone kid you, cleaning paint sprayers is not easy, even though many say they have auto cleaning modes. There is little difference between most modern sprayers when it comes to cleaning and it is entirely up to you as to how clean you want them to get. You will never be so happy as when you take out the sprayer for the next job that you did a thorough cleaning job when you put the sprayer away the last time you used it.

Doesn't work properly. I have tried to use this product several times and it doesn't spray properly, instead it comes out like a weak stream and splatters on the wall. However, water runs perfectly through it. My sister's husband said the paint was to thick.. So I called and sure enough the paint was to thick. The representative said I could thinning out the paint by using a cup of water per gallon of paint. If this doesn't work I'm sending it back.

I ordered and had this sprayer delivered to my house -- excellent service! ONLY I had it shipped to my house 800 miles from where I was and needed it -- MY mistake. So I reordered another one, and used it -- great sprayer -- no complaints! Four months later I get home to find the first one which I do not now need! BUT my return date has expired! What do I do with an unopened sprayer??? Why can they not take back a brand new shrinkwraped sprayer??? Help!

Its a nice compact sprayer, and it functions well, I just have a few small issues with it. First the pros, I love the toolbox and storage for tips, its absolutely great to have. Gun works very well, priming and pump is fast and responsive. Great sprayer for small houses, decks, fences, etc- i can make quick money with this sprayer. Cons- the intake filter is too big to fit in the hole in most 1gal or 5gal paint screw tops. This means you have to open the entire lid, which introduces air/dust/dirt into the paint. I removed that and added a female garden hose fitting with a screw off filter to fit in buckets and to allow for easy cleaning. My major complaint is thw hose size fitting isnt standard 1/4", its smaller. You cant buy or use any hose accessories with this sprayer. No whip, no swivel, etc. The manual stayes that it has an optional swivel filter assembly, but it isnt available anywhere to buy. Why they couldnt just use standard hoses on this... makes me wish i had just bought the Graco.

Makes short work out of a big job. Quality tool. Lots of accessories available. Ordered an extension. A must for house jobs.
