Reliable and Durable – Perfect for Dash Cam Storage
I purchased the Samsung USB Type-C Flash Drive specifically for storing dash cam footage in my car, and it has been an excellent choice. This flash drive's standout feature is its reliability under the continuous use demanded by dash cam recordings. The capacity is substantial, providing ample space for hours of high-definition video without the need for frequent transfers or deletions. This is particularly important for dash cam use, where you never want to miss recording crucial moments due to lack of storage. Its data transfer speeds are noteworthy. When I need to transfer footage to my computer or other devices, the process is swift and seamless, a crucial factor when handling large video files. The dual USB Type-C and Type-A connectivity further enhances its versatility, making it compatible with a wide range of devices. In terms of design, the flash drive's compact size is perfect for use in a car, as it doesn't protrude much from the dash cam, minimizing the risk of accidental knocks or damage. The build quality feels sturdy and reliable, an essential feature considering the varying temperatures and conditions inside a car.I also appreciate the simple plug-and-play functionality. There’s no need for any complicated setup; the drive works effortlessly with my dash cam and other devices.Overall, the Samsung USB Type-C Flash Drive has been a dependable and high-performing storage solution for my car's dash cam. It offers peace of mind, knowing that all my recordings are stored safely and can be accessed or transferred easily whenever needed.

Edited Review - 7% unavailable storage on all models
Please note, 256GB stick actually only has 238 of available storage - 18GB missing. Likewise on the 128GB sticks there is 9GB missing. ie 7% missing from each. Presumably it's the same for the 64GB. Screenshots attached show data info, and relevant page from Samsung's data sheet available online (see Point 5). 7% is quite a chunk. If it's for some kind of hidden system file just advertise them at the lower storage level - they're still worth it and much better than the others I've used. I've looked on Diskgenius and it shows 119.5GB storage but registers the full 128 but it can't be seen. If you're tech savvy maybe it makes sense and you can fix it. I'm not!Samsung will not help with this, they just give your money back. But all that aside, I will probably repurchase because other big brands I've tried have the same issue not only with usb sticks but also with memory cards.ORIGINAL REVIEW:I got a 128GB one and was so impressed I bought the 256 too. It works on any USBC device (not just Samsung) straight out of the box, with no formatting needed. It's just as the manufacturer describes - fast, sturdy, solid, well designed (cap fits perfectly and doesn't fall off), and completely reliable. It never gets hot unlike a lot of flash drives I've used, maybe slightly warm after a while using the 256. Good value for something that is clearly going to last for ages (they have a 5 Yr warranty). If you are using it with a mobile device note that it won't always fit with certain cases particularly thick ones as it's wider than a charger cable but it fits fine with the pink type case,(ie lots of space around the port). If you don't use cases though it isn't an issue.

Looks and works perfectly
Plugged this lovely little drive into my Apple Laptop when it arrived and dumped 21GB of data into it in a few minutes. The drive got quite warm to the touch but was easy to plug in and is a well-designed bit of kit. Amazingly I paid around the buying price for this one, for a 16MB drive in around 1999 and that still works so the new one has a lot to prove.

The entire contents of my laptop on a keychain
I have been carrying around a 2.5 inch portable SSD for years because I work between 3 computers and need my files everywhere even when there's no wifi. It worked, but it was another thing in my bag, another cable to remember, and it always died at the worst moment because I forgot to charge it or bring the cable. This tiny Samsung Type C drive has replaced it entirely. The size is ridiculous. At 34 by 16 by 6 millimeters and 3.4 grams, it is smaller than my thumb and lighter than a paperclip. I have it on my keychain and honestly forget it is there. The reversible USB C connector means no more fumbling with orientation; it just slides in, which sounds minor until you do it 20 times a day.The 400 megabyte per second read speed is not marketing fluff. I benchmarked it and got 418 megabytes per second sequential reads. A 4 gigabyte video file copies in about 9 seconds. Write speeds are around 110 megabytes per second, which is fine for my usage; I am mostly reading large files off it anyway. The 512 gigabytes stores my entire active project folder, my photo archive for the past year, and a backup of critical documents with room to spare. The durability is what sold me over cheaper alternatives. Samsung rates it for 72 hours in 1 meter of seawater, shock up to 1,500 Gs, magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, temperature swings from minus 10 to 70 degrees celsius, and airport X-rays. I have not tested any of that intentionally, but it has survived being washed in my jeans twice and dropped on concrete more times than I can count. The Magician software lets me check health and benchmark performance from my desktop. At this price for 512 gigabytes of fast, durable, USB C storage that weighs nothing, it is a no brainer. 5 stars.
