Can you advise, how many I would need to cover a small ottoman?

Depending on the original color. I used a whole bottle to touch up some sun bleaching on a black sofa and still is a little noticeable

Can this be used on a lampshade? Will the warmth of a bulb affect the paint?

I don't think the heat will affect the paint. I put it on car upholstery that gets a whole lot hotter than a lamp shade. Worked great by the way.

do you have to rewet or spray with water again before the 2nd coat?

I would highly recommend spraying with water before each layer. It keeps the fabric softer and makes it look more dyed than ‘painted’

I used this on a chair and it made the fabric hard and stiff. How can I make it soft again?

You can’t! You have to wet the fabric when you first apply the dye. That’s what makes it stay soft. Once it’s dried it can’t be softened. The more water you spray on the fabric when applying the dye the softer the fabric stays

I have folowed intructions how to use. It came up very good. I had jacket that outer layer fall apart. I had clean it and use this paint and it worked perfectly. I got wet in the rain, paint stand as new. I highly recomend it. P.S. color of fabric that I painted on, was light green. Now it is nice black. First picture show how it was before. Second how it looks after painting.

Very disappointed. I bought two of these to do a project. But after applying the second bottle it turned out they were different colors, which ruined the project.
