The cabinet came assembled but the packaging did not protect the item. It was completely destroyed and broken in several ways.

This storage cabinet arrived with the glass door loose in the cabinet, but fortunately, not broken. The wooden frame for the glass had broken in two places, and three of the small plastic brackets that held the glass in place were also broken. I was able to use wood glue to reassemble the frame, and found replacement plastic brackets to hold the glass in place. I then had to match the stain of the cabinet to cover the repaired areas.Reviews on this item that I had read had indicated that there were issues with how the item was packed and shipped, so I was somewhat expecting that there would be problems, and I was not disappointed. I would not have purchased this cabinet based on prior reviews, but it was the only cabinet I found that filled my needs.Now that it's repaired, I am mostly happy with it. I do not like the brackets that hold the glass door in place when the door is closed, and plan to replace them, probably with magnetic catches.

product arrived in good condition, and was easy to uncrate/assemble (w/ some assistance - definitely NOT a one-person task). product performs as advertised - lots of room for CDs, DVDs, and even some throwback tapes. HOWEVER, in spite of its "real wood" composition, product emits a noxious odor which overwhelms the room it's in. am hoping this offensive reek dissipates quickly, as it is a huge negative against an otherwise very acceptable item.

The item looks very nice and the fact that it comes almost completely assembled is wonderful, but more care needs to be taken in how these are shipped. While the packaging looked secure, my cabinet arrived with the entire backboard (thin laminated particleboard similar to what you'd find with IKEA products) almost completely ripped off the back, held on by only one side and one corner. From certain angles this creates a crack that is entirely visible. I would have rather installed the backing myself than have this happen and have no recourse (sending this back is hardly an easy option). Amazon offered a discount on the purchase after being notified, but it's a disappointment all the same marring what is a unique and classy piece of furniture.

I received this storage cabinet last week. It came all in one piece, put together . The only assembly was inserting the shelves. Not a big deal. It was packaged very well and was heavy as sin. I decided to use this for bathroom storage. The glass door section was used for storing larger cosmetic products, like mud masks, facial cleansers, etc. I used the CD storage section to hold make-up brushes, hair clips and ties and other small odds and ends.The cabinet is made of wood - no mdf here. It arrived with a tiny scratch to a corner which was fixed with a black marker. The color is very dark expresso and can see where some might call it black depending on the lighting. Either way, I LOVE it.

I love the look of this CD / DVD cabinet, but unfortunately it's not a functional piece of furniture. The CDs fit the drawers nicely, and the shelves are spaced for DVDs, but it's not worth the price.Take off one star because of the misleading description. It's not 100% oak. Only the sides and front are oak. The back is plywood and the bottom of the drawers are paper (yes, paper). The shelves are adjustable only if you have the tools and patience to drill holes for the plastic pegs.Take off the second star for the paper bottom of the apothecary drawers. It's not sturdy enough to hold the CDs. The bottom of the shelves tear and break if you try to put in CDs, so you would have to reinforce them in order to use any of the drawers.It loses the third star due to inadequate packaging. The furniture is not double boxed (although the package says it is), and both units I tried out were damaged in shipping. Apparently Leslie Dame prefers to risk hundreds of dollars of furniture and their company's reputation to save a few dollars on shipping boxes.Finally, the fourth star is lost because after I returned the first cabinet due to damage (the top was torn off, which split the wood on the top, front and sides), the replacement cabinet had the exact same damage. This means the entire pallet was damaged -- and Amazon isn't checking the merchandise before shipping.If you do want to take the chance of purchasing this, be sure to buy it from Amazon. Returns are quick and easy, which is why they get one star. In sum: very disappointing - I wanted this piece of furniture to work, because it does look great. Unfortunately, the poor construction and shipping is a deal breaker.

NOT as good as in the pictures, shelving units are paper thin and only finished on one side....and it's the wrong side.....marker writing all over the glass....

Absolutely fantastic ships assembled and not a thing wrong with it. LOVE IT
