These things work great. The only downside, is the suction cup. This really isn't a problem with the product itself, but instead how we use them. We stick them to the windshield and leave them, forever. Full sun and heat in the summer, freezing temps in the winter. It takes a toll on the suction cup. After 2-3 years the cup becomes a sticky goo and needs to be replaced. No huge deal. You can replace just the suction cup and arm for about half the price of the whole mount. totally worth it every 2-3 years to have your phone locked securely during that time. (to remove the residue when the suction cup goes south, use a razor blade scraper to get the bulk of it off, then some kind of solvent like acetone to remove the rest - it's easy unless you just like to complain)

The original mount had lasted many years and the silicone sticky mount began to deteriorate. Bought this and now we are back in business.

I've bought iOttie phone charger mounts for probably 20 years and they seem to be the best solution available. I only ever use them for windshield mount, so I can't speak to how they work on dashboard. I really wouldn't want suction goo on my dash. For windshield mount they work great! Until finally they don't. This is the only disappointment about these products. But it was a great discovery that they sell these mount-only kits for less than half price vs a new charger mount. And a tip to get more life from the mount: Other sellers offer replacement sticky disks to go on the suction cup. They will eventually fail in hot summer sun also, but they last quite a while. It's not worth doing more than once, though because with multiple layers they become a thick gooey mess. Surely iOttie has tested the engineering, but examination shows the "suction" part of the suction cup is minimal at best. The lock lever pulls the center away from the surface, but not nearly far enough to generate any serious suction.

I LOVE that you can buy this piece. I have had the full ( wireless charging) mount since the wireless came out . Have had to replace this piece twice. Sticky adhesion is solid but eventually does come off after 3-5 years in my experience. Buying just replacement sticky pads did not work, but this peice does. Have keep original charging/ phone holding mount part and just pop this one to it when needed. Worth the cost to me because of this piece vs buying a whole new set.

I love the iOttie cell phone holders and have used them for over a decade. The only complaint I have had (since the design update) is that after a few years the suction cup will discolor and kind of melt on the windshield before falling off. This replacement part is great as now I don't have to replace the entire unit.

I have used hottie many times in the past, and this was a replacement because the suction cup on the dashboard finally gave out. It's not surprising given that my cars are parked in the sun in the Texas heat. (The suction cup lasted for several years.). This piece was exactly like the original, and it was easy to attach the phone holder onto the ball joint and reattach the entire shebang to my dashboard.

I have two of these and they are solid. Can come dislodged in extreme heat, but unlike others, they just need a cleaning and mount right back up.

I ordered this item in November 2025 and it worked well to replace the original base that had lost its ability to adhere to the smooth mounting circle attached to the dashboard. The first day this year it hit 90 degrees it immediately lost its ability to stay in place. I rinsed it with water and stuck it back on multiple times but after a few minutes it falls off again. The weather has since cooled off dramatically, back down in the 60s since that hot day but it still doesn't work anymore even when it's not actively hot out. This item would be a 5/5 from me if it was able to withstand the heat. Strongly recommend this as a solution to anyone who lives in a cooler climate.

Had a third party cheap windshield adhered phone mount when my iottie cup holder mount didn't fit the bill in a new vehicle. Was fine for about a week. Then the thing fell apart, as did the next one that I replaced it with. So glad that I could order just the arm and now I feel stupid I didn't do it sooner! Excellent product, super adhesion and super solid build! I won't be going back to cheap knockoffs.

Works great with the air vent mount kit, a lot more sturdy and more positioning options.

A+++ Exactly what is needed to share a phone mount among multiple vehicles

I am not sure if the product is defective or designed this way but the arm wasn't sturdy/strong enough to hold my Samsung S22. While driving the arm would often droop down and can no longer hold its position. I eventually had to lean the phone against something to prop it into position. The suction base is strong and adheres well to my dash.
