Rubbermaid Commercial Products SLIM JIM Plastic Rectangular Trash/Garbage Can/Bin with Venting Channels, 16 GAL, Gray, for Kitchens/Classrooms/Offices/Back of House

After years of waiting tables in restaurants & using these types of garbage cans at work, I finally got one for my home. The shape makes it easily fit into my kitchen corner, but it can hold a lot of garbage! It may not be the prettiest thing in the world, but it gets the job done & is very sturdy.

Bought this to replace the 2 small trash cans in my new pull out cabinet. It will work but you have to trim the extended handles otherwise it won't get past the cabinet front or the countertop.

This is a fantastic trash can. I can empathize with the reviewer who waxed poetic about loving a trashcan. HOWEVER.... finding liners is a pain. After unsuccessfully trying 3 types, including an 18-gallon trash compactor version from Hefty, I called Rubbermaid and was told they do make liners, but they are very expensive- with shipping they were almost $1/liner- and they are only 0.9 mil. I finally found AmazonCommercial 23G Trash bags for Rubbermaid SlimJim- 1.1 mil- Black- 150 count. They don’t make one specifically for the 16 gal Slim Jim, but these fit fine, and cost less than $0.25/ bag. Now that I have bags that fit, I really like this can. It has a super-wise mouth opening, so it will hold large pizza boxes, etc. It holds an amazing quantity of trash, has handles, is easy to clean... what’s not to love?

I've tried a lot of different kitchen trash cans recently, but this one proves to be the best, even better than the automatic battery operated one which croaked within a year

I bought one of these because the ones at the office are awesome. The mouth on the 16 gal model is the same as the mouth on the larger 23 gal model so that they can take the same lids. This did make finding the right size trash liner/bag difficult, but thanks to ULINE's website, I found that 30in W x 36in H bags fit the 16 gallon model perfectly, and I confirm that they do. The 30in wide mouth fits very snugly over the entire top of the can if pulled down to just cover the handles. There isn't enough extra mouth width to feed the bag down through the holes and slots designed to hold the bag in place, but because the mouth fits so snugly, one does not need to do so. 36in height appears to be just barely enough to reach the bottom with the mouth pulled down just over the handles (about 4in of length wasted). A 30in W x 40in H bag would probably be the maximal fit for the liner to completely hug the inside of the can, but this is close enough. I am using a minimum of 1mil thick bag. Anything less would probably tear due to the potential weight and sharp objects that will go in my trash can.

Expensive but very nice keeps the dog out

Quality construction, needs a 120l bin bag. The rubble sacks you get are way too small.

El bote está muy bien, pero no tiene tapa. En ese sentido el precio me pareció excesivo. Lo devolví hace 3 meses y tuve que pagar la devolución. Es la hora que el vendedor no me reembolsa por completo.

Nothing wrong with this bin, it’s exactly as described, but it is only a plastic bin and I’m sure if you look hard enough you will find similar unbranded alternatives that are a lot cheaper. Having said that, it feels sturdy and is obviously made to last.
