A: No. A router is not intended to be used as a drill. You would be much better off with a drill. In my experience with drills, unless you need lots of sustained power, a battery powered drill with ½" chuck would be my choice. It will accommodate any drill bit up to ½".  It will also accommodate larger diameter drill bits with a ½" or smaller (3/8", ¼") shank.
