Brass Shine Powder Detergent, 1 Pound Package

This is the best brass cleaner I have used in my wet FA tumbler. Cleans and dries w/o water spots.

I have used quite a few cleaning solutions for my pin brass tumbler. And for the money this is by far the best cleaner I have used. excellent product. Jim

Bought the big bag since it was from the same company as the stainless media. To test the media and detergent, I used 9mm that had been cleaned with RCBS Case Cleaner in a RCBS Sidewinder tumbler. The brass on the outside looked clean and the inside was clean but dark colored. I tumbled using this detergent and the stainless media for 20 minutes. The liquid detergent looked like mud. The brass looked like brand new inside and out. You couldn't tell this brass from new brass. I'm sold on it and won't go back. The large bag will make LOTS of detergent and would last most folks years. As I recall, it's one tablespoon of powder in one gallon of water. Use enough to cover the brass in the tumbler and tumble for at least 20 minutes for normal brass, longer for black brass. You'll be impressed. I am.

It works well, but after cleaning and shining the brass does start to turn or tarnu-ish right away. After a week it's darker.

This works best with a small amount in a tumbler with steel pins and cold water. Remember to rinse with cold water.

I got this and went to to make the cleaning agent for my brass. Once I opened the bag and started the measurement instructions I read the fact this was for steel pin tumbling. The specific type of brass cleaning was not listed in the product listing. I had already used some of the product thinking the measurements were for water, so I cant return it. I am annoyed and pissed that the general Amazon search showed this and failed to define or search for the correct facts.

I've used several different media's be it dry or wet and Brass Shine is by far the very best. I bought the stainless steel media from Gun Tap for my harbor freight tumbler and it came with a sample of this stuff. I used dawn soap and lemishine because I had already purchased it. Once I started using this stuff I won't go back. It cleans old super dirty brass back to brand new. Primer pockets are even cleaned and shine. This stuff is the very best.
