NICE - SO NICE I PURCHASED A 2ND ONE
I suppose a laser mouse would be a small improvement, but the optical mouse provided is quite good enough. Just remember to turn it off when not in use. The keyboard is quiet and feels just right. The special keys for automatic connection to Email, Internet, controlling sound, etc, work properly - without additional software. The O/S on my desktop is Vista Home. I haven't tested it on my laptop or Netbook, both running XP. But I'm sure keyboard and mouse would work just as well on them. It took only ten minutes to unpack, install, boot-up my computer, and write this review. I'll update after I've used it a while. ****************** Update: 12-18-2010 ****************** After using the MK320 for several days, I can testify that the Logitech MK320 Keyboard and Mouse are an excellent choice for anyone owning a desktop or portable computer running Windows Vista OS. I'm ordering a second MK320 for my XP Desktop computer. It's presently connected to an old wired (no brand) keyboard and mouse. They're past due for the junk yard. ****************** UPDATE: 2/8/11 ****************** The second keyboard came and has been in use for about ten days. It is as nice as the first. I have it plugged into my second desktop (XP OS). I sometimes unplug it and use it on my Netbook (also XP OS). It is easily identified on both computers and it makes a great difference - especially with the Netbook. I'm using the included alkaline batteries, but I'm thinking about using my NIMH rechargeable batteries when the alkaline batteries die. This is no big deal. The convenience of this keyboard and mouse are worth the possible alkaline battery expense. Also, I'm a touch typist and this keyboard gives me no problems keeping up to my natural speed. It feels right and it performs right. I cannot imagine a better deal. I have raised my rating from four stars to five stars.

Easy, reliable, & wireless!!!
This was a gift for my father in laws computer upgrade. His only gripe was that there is no light confirmation for the Caps Lock. In all honesty, these are easy to set up, very reliable, & the battery lasts for a several months of light use. Battery life similar to a remote for a TV, change maybe once a year.

A solid reliable product at a reasonable price as long as you have a spare USB port
A nice solid keyboard/mouse combination. I bought this to replace an old small Microsoft bluetooth keyboard after I clumsily broke off a couple of the chiclet keys. This keyboard has large regular keys that are better for a klutz like me . I really wish someone would make a keyboard with the tactile and audio feedback of the old IBM Selectric (the kind of keyboard that came with the original IBM PC) but this is a good second place finisher. There are no Caps Lock or Num Lock lights but you can download a utility from the Logitech website that briefly flashes a notification on the screen whenever they are pressed. This same utility notifies you when the batteries are low and allows you to program 6 keys (5 special keys at the top left and the Calculator key. I use AutoHotKey to automate some functions and I like that I can program these keys with special key combinations (such as <ctrl> <alt> K) and this is passed to AutoHotKey correctly. I only have one good hand so it can be hard to press multiple key combinations. Reducing this to one keystroke is a big help. The mouse is nothing special, just a standard wireless mouse. It can also be programmed from the utility but it's nothing a dozen other programs can't do. My only complaint so far is having to give up a USB port for their small "unifying receiver". Fortunately my USB hub has some spare ports so this wasn't a problem. Hey Logitech! there is already a unifying receiver technology built into almost all modern personal computers. It's called BlueTooth. There's no need to reinvent the wheel. If not for this I would give a 5 star rating instead of 4. If You don't mind giving up a USB port this product is a solid BUY

Breathed new life into my old computer
Logitech MK320 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo, Long Range Wireless Keyboard and Mouse I bought this keyboard to replace an older Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard (model K520) that came with a computer I bought the end of 2012. The computer is running Windows 8.1. The older keyboard frequently lost communication with the PC; I'd have to shake it around the desktop to get it going again and a battery change didn't help. I was pleased right away with the performance of this product. It comes with no software, no directions. Just removed the dongle for the old keyboard, and inserted the new dongle for this product into a USB slot. This was done while the PC was running. The keyboard and mouse worked instantly. Mouse and keyboard work in BIOS mode, i.e. before Windows boots, so that's not a problem. Both are comfortable and responsive and so the old computer is a joy to use again. There are "hot keys" with no directions on what to do about them. Their default actions on my PC: app switch icon: Task Switcher Email icon: Chrome (default browser). No page loaded. With each repeat, a new, empty Chrome window. Home icon: Chrome loaded without loading any page. 2nd press: Same Chrome window loads its Home page. Music icon: Loads Windows Media Player Desktop icon: Shows Windows 7 desktop FN-F5: Opens Windows O.S. search box FN-F6: Locks PC FN-F7: Opened File Explorer to "This PC" view FN-F8: Puts computer into Sleep Mode FN-PrintScreen: equivalent of clicking mouse button 2 in the active window FN-Pause|Break: Toggles Scroll Lock ON/OFF So - how do you configure these keys: IN Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers: Under "Devices", there is "Logitech Unifying Receiver". Click it with mouse button 2 for mouse and keyboard settings. You get the standard Windows setup dialogs for keyboards and mice. So - the answer to hotkey configuration: Logitech Setpoint Software. Go to [...] and download Setpoint Software Smart Installer for your version of windows. Install My reassigned keyboard settings: App switch icon: Control Panel Email icon: opens Chrome to GMail page Home icon: Could not reassign to open Setpoint. Probably not a useful thing to do anyway because Setpoint has installed a new "Mouse and Keyboard Settings" icon in the System Tray. So I assigned it to open my Notepad++ text editor. Music icon: Spotify One MINOR drawback: as with my old Logitech keyboard, there is no CapsLock LED or indicator. Logitech recommends disabling the CapsLock key, so that's the probably why there's no indicator! I recommend this product!

Excellent! Basically a wired mouse/keyboard without the wires.
I've owned this device for about 7 months now and has functioned excellent. I've used the device daily for at least 2-3 hours each day. The keyboard has not needed to have its batteries changed, but the mouse has needed it's battery replaced about 4 or 5 times (thank goodness for rechargable batteries). I love slim designs of the keyboard and mouse. The mouse is fairly light compared to most standard mice, which results in less hand fatigue. The buttons on the keyboard are much quieter than the old wired PS2 keyboards, so that's another plus. I'm quite picky when it comes to how accurate mice are, and this one passes my test. It honestly feels just like any wired mouse unlike other wireless mice I've used that make the cursor move/accelerate across the screen differently than wired mice. The additional media buttons (rewind, play/pause, fast forwards, mute and volume) are very handy, especially the volume controls. It also has a calculator button to open your calculator on your computer. I've had only a couple minor mishaps with the device where the keyboard and mouse would stop functioning or become delayed unless I temporarily moved the receiver to the front of the computer, closer to my desk. I'm not sure if the problem was due to poor reception (I'm using a wooden desk), or if my batteries were running low at the time, but that has only happened a handful of times and eventually went away. I HAVE used this at distances of greater than 15 feet with no issues, so I'm not sure why I had that problem at my desk. OVERALL, this is an excellent purchase, especially at the low price of twenty USD. This is a high quality item that I do not regret buying. It's so much more convenient having a wireless mouse/keyboard, plus it's easier on the eyes. OTHER NOTES: I own another wireless desktop, the Logitech 2400 Cordless Desktop that served me well for about 1 year until the mouse's left click button would fail to click properly (it would want to click multiple times when I only clicked once, and the accuracy of the mouse became worse depending on the mouse's orientation to the receiver. However, the Logitech MK320 has not had these problems thankfully. If I do encounter these issues or any other issues in the future, I will be sure to update this review.

Simple and to the point
Just got this today, will amend review if anything changes. I'm a writer, and a very fast typist. The keyboards is pleasantly clicky, bouncy and responsive, and I can type very fast. It's a "tactile" keyboard, and I don't make as many errors as on some of the "softer" and "quieter" keyboards I've tried. The mouse is surprisingly comfortable for a wireless mouse, decently responsive. I normally HATE wireless mice and use wired mice and wireless keyboards, but I thought I'd give this a try. I've been pleasantly surprised. The reception is fine, but I'm not trying to push the range very far. It's not fussy at all, and my last logitech wireless totally was. Setup was SO painless. Plugged in the dongle, pulled out the tabs for the ALREADY INSTALLED batteries, and boom, it worked. A neat feature... keyboard and mouse BOTH have off switches. This makes sense and should dramatically extend battery life. So far so good! ETA: I've had to for a month or so now, I think, and while the battery life isn't as advertised, that's probably because I don't generally remember to turn the mouse and keyboard off when I'm done using them. Even so, these last about 100 times longer than my previous keyboard and mouse. The mouse is quite responsive. I've disliked wireless mice in the past for being laggy, this one isn't. My scores in Bejeweled Blitz aren't quite as high as they were, but they're still very, very high, and I'm not sure it's the mouse's fault... ;) Typing on the keyboard is great. Every once in a while, it lags, but it seems to buffer what I'm typing, so waiting a moment will get the text to show up. That only happens once every few days, it's not often enough to qualify even as aggravating. ETA: Great keyboard! I didn't realize how great until I accidentally knocked a full glass of liquid into it. There was lemonade running straight through it, across the full width.... I took the batteries out immediately, took out the nine million tiny screws, and opened it up with a plastic knife.... and the electronics were DRY. The top was damp, but no electronics in the upper surface and the panel below is well protected. I dried everything, used a little rubbing alcohol on the keys to get the sticky off (should have just stuck it under running water, the top panel, that is!) let it sit until completely dry, then put it back together... works fine! Six months later: Keyboard is fine. Mouse... OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS MOUSE. Here's the thing... I have kids. And I do my computing from a couch. I drop my mouse All. The. Time. This mouse... it pops apart every time I do... but never, ever breaks, and goes back together just fine. I have another mouse I've owned for less than 2 months that has not held up to the same abuse, and is getting dodgier and dodgier. The battery life on this mouse is outstanding as well. Just a very impressive product all around, and any future keyboard/mice combos I buy will likely be this one, because it just WORKS. I never use the off switches, but still get great battery life, better even than on another "smart" mouse I have that turns itself off when the computer is off. We use rechargeables, and I just don't have to swap them very often. 18 months of use, and still working great despite a ridiculous amount of abuse from my kids, being dropped off the couch, behind the couch, under the couch, grabbed, drooled on, bitten (I had a baby). We've had a couple keys pop off the keyboard during drops... they snap right back on. Battery compartment pops open when you drop it...but goes back together, no breaking. Final comments: Baby is 16 months old and I'm still using it, but it has seen better days. After being subjected to the abuse of a special needs 8 year old who likes to pick keys off, a toddler who loves to "type" but will alternate typing with whacking nearby objects with the keyboard and both keyboard and mouse repeatedly hitting the floor at speed when catapulted from the top of my recliner as I leaped to my feet to deal with my wayward children after putting mouse and keyboard "out of their reach", they have suffered the following damages: The control key is nowhere to be found. Just up and disappeared. I'm kind of afraid one of the kids ate it. I can use the control button by sticking my pinky down in the hole but it's definitely time to get a new keyboard. The spring is gone from under the shift key, so it has lost a little zip... but still works. The battery cover finally gave up the ghost, and I ended up using it without the cover most of the time for the past few months. I think someone chewed on the mouse wheel, there is no other explanation for the damage. I ameliorated it with sugru, but one can only do so much. My 16 month old has figured out how to replace the battery, which pops out every time it hits the floor. This happens often enough that if I drop my muose and the battery pops out, he will pick up the mouse, bring it to me, go look for the battery, bring THAT to me, and then put the battery in, and he never gets the orientation wrong. Crazy kid. And with all that? They are still 97% functional as keyboard and mouse. Battery life is still awesome with hybrid rechargeable batteries. The Ctrl button (left side) is annoying as heck because it's the one I use for Ctrl-v etc. But at least it still works! I've had wired and wireless keyboards alike die ignominious deaths (wonder why?) many times before, and holy crap this one is still working. I bought my mother one, I liked it so well. For my netbook I have a similar mouse, but with a pretty red flower on it and a smaller receiver, also Logitech. Love that one too. Baby uses that one all the time and it never even pops the battery. (by use I mean whenever my back is turned he grabs the netbook and mouse and starts typing vigorously, then uses the mouse, then resumes typing vigorously. One of these days, it will come out Shakespeare.) ETA: I just bought a new one (June 2014) because the "new and improved" model I replaced this one with didn't last nearly as long. The edges were more brittle, it started breaking quickly and eventually just flat out refused to turn on. And I'm remembering why I liked the feel of this one so very much. Hopefully we can avoid some of the abuse the last two went through.... A note: The keyboard is the K330 and the mouse is a M215, if you're looking for the parts individually. January 2016: The keyboard died a while ago (second keyboard) but the second mouse is still going strong. In fact, I was diagnosed in the past couple years with Ehlers Danlos, so comfortable keyboard and mouse is a must. This mouse, I actually added a frame made out of instamorph thermoplastic to support my hand and it works brilliantly, still going strong despite many drops (though the frame helps keep things from popping apart. Despite spending many hours per day on the computer, I have currently minimal wrist or finger symptoms (they sometimes get bad with repetitive stress, so the fact that I can type and mouse comfortably many hours per day is impressive.) I'm currently using a K360 keyboard with the mouse that came with this, and that keyboard is also nicely responsive and shaped. The attached picture is of the mouse with the frame on it (covering the missing battery cover, lol). I was having some stress around my fingers "collapsing" around the side of the mouse due to the small size (not a problem for a long time, but became one due to the progression of my illness) and this I crafted to keep my fingers in a neutral position and allow me to mouse without "gripping". Super comfortable still.

Please read this review if you're having latency problems with this keyboard in Windows 10!
I bought this keyboard and mouse combo about a month ago. Instead of using the mouse it came with, I paired it with a Logitech M705 mouse. I began having latency issues as others have described, but even worse problems with the aforementioned mouse. The short: DISABLE the Logitech Setpoint software AFTER you set everything up. Leave it installed, but remove it from running at login. Yes, you WILL lose advanced functionality (like assigning special functions to buttons) but it's worth it in the end. The long: Logitech Setpoint needs updated to work better in Windows 10. Install it, select the Unifying option and allow it to pair up your keyboard and mouse with the Unifying Receiver. Once it's paired, close out of, and disable the software from running at login (Ccleaner is GREAT for easily doing this). Once Setpoint is disabled, say goodbye to the keyboard latency problems, as well as mouse problems (more on that in my M705 review.) What will still work with Setpoint disabled: All basic functions of the keyboard All top-row keys (Email, Browser, Media Player (all still assignable WITHOUT Setpoint). Track forward/back Play. Volume Up/Down and Mute Calculator. What WON'T work after disabling Setpoint: Buttons you've 'assigned' and customized. --I changed the 'Show Desktop' to Media Player 'Stop' and that won't work without Setpoint running. On-screen notifications. --The CAPS lock will not alert you on-screen when turned on/off. Volume keys still work fine though for on-screen notifications. I've been using this keyboard now for days without any latency issues whatsoever. Yes, you are giving up advanced functionality for what is just basic functionality but you're at least still wireless. This is a fresh Windows 10 64-bit Pro custom build PC that I built myself. Bottom line: Logitech needs to fix their software. Their hardware, on the other hand, works GREAT once you disable Setpoint! HOPE this helps someone save some time and headache! Finally, one other thing to note: As others have stated, the keyboard I received states K330 as the model number on it. NO difference in features and still works PERFECT once you disable the Setpoint software. I'm VERY happy with this wireless keyboard. Good keyboard, long battery life, low price. But has some issues.
I like this keyboard. It works well, feels nice and sturdy, and has a good battery life (over a year on same batteries). Value for price is great though. I bought it for $26, and it seems to be even cheaper now $20, so for that price I'd still recommend it. However, there are some problems which is why I can't give it full stars. Cons: - The Home/Del/End/PgUp/PgDown/Insert keys are not in standard formation. The Insert key is altogether moved into the top row near the F12 key, the rest of the keys are rotated about 90 degrees so they span vertically instead of horizontally, and the Delete key is expanded to take up the space of the missing insert key. It takes getting used to. - Key input sometimes (fairly infrequently) gets laggy, or altogether frozen. During this time, key presses seem to do nothing, and then after a while all the letters rapidly appear on the screen. Now, this MIGHT be an issue with my computer rather than the keyboard, but somehow I doubt it. - Some key presses get missed. For example, if I hold Shift and press N,U in rapid succession, the U will consistently get dropped (unless I leave a bit of delay after the N). I am a developer so when I type NULL in all caps it turns out as NLL. Annoying, but I've learned to slow down my typing for this word. I tried other combinations of N + another letter, or another letter + U, and those send fine, just N+U is messed up. - No dedicated context menu key (it has an Fn key instead, and there's only 6 keys which have Fn actions, one of which is in fact a context menu action, so at least it exists). I like invoking the context menu from keyboard, so having to do Fn + Print Screen (that's the key with the context menu Fn action) is slightly more cumbersome. - The included mouse is really small. I don't use it - it lives in my box of tech junk, I guess in case I meet a tiny person who needs a mouse. - No LED status lights (for Caps Lock, Num Lock, etc). I understand that a lot of wireless keyboards don't have this, and that I knew about this before I bought it, but it turns out I miss those lights more than I imagined. That said, I wouldn't dock a star just for this, my rating is mostly based on the first 3-4 cons.

Wireless Spill resistant keyboard
So, looks like I'm a bit of a klutz. I killed my last keyboard by spilling soda in it. Tried to rince it off, but it didn't work. So this time I bought this little keyboard, thinking if something like this ever happened again... well, it took 3 days and one clingy cat. It was milk this time. I took the thing completely appart. (the keyboard, not the cat), rinse it off, washed the sticky parts with alcohol, waited until it was completely dry, put it back up again and it's like nothing happened. Working like a charm.

Simple and dependable.
Had the MK540 till my wife needed a new keyboard, gave her that one, so went looking and found this item on Amazon at great price, seems to have gone up in price in last few days. Anyway very simple to hook up and use right away, as for battery use, I'm sure they will last long, my old keyboard that my wife has now is over a year old and batteries are still original. Don't do gaming so I can't tell you. Love the keys and easy pressure for the key operation.
