Lots of functionality with this, the bullseye feature is an easy way to level in multiple planes. The alarm to let you know when you're close to target is a great feature, but there's not a whole lot of ramp up - it only starts to go off when you're fairly close (a degree or two) so you don't know where you are until you're nearly there. Still it's useful when you can't see the level (like levelling a shelving unit with adjustable feet). It's Great for pipes and shorter runs, but for longer runs or uneven surfaces your best bet it is lay a level down and place this on top. Bit of a pain, but about 1/4 the cost of a Stabila or Sola digital level so that's a decent trade off as long as your angles aren't steep enough to make it slide if you can't hold it there. A good tool to have in the kit.

I got this handy little box to level my house, plus it turned out very useful for leveling the stones in an outdoor patio. This item is durable and simple to use. It automatically senses when you want it to run in 1D (traditional bubble level mode) or 2D (bullseye surface level mode). The mode depends on whether it's lying on its back or on its side. Its screen defaults to a vividly legible dark mode, which is a mercy when we work at night or in dark crawl spaces. Be sure to get the separate pipe strap if you need to level & plumb tubular objects. Note, there is in fact a 1D (bubble style) and 2D (surface style) level built into iPhones, and so I compared them. There was no context. The iPhone level is imprecise. As of July 2025, the iPhone level does not even pretend to distinguish inclinations in increments of less than one degree. That is practically useless for construction, especially in safety-conscious construction applications. This item is far better than the iPhone's built-in digital level, and it was well worth paying for the upgrade. This Klein level's precision is 1/10th of a degree in both dimensions. That is plenty for most applications. Extremely high precision engineering applications will need a high end Pro level 10x - 100x more expensive, but for household tasks and general construction, this level is perfect. As an added benefit over an iPhone level, there are none of the cybersecurity risks of leaving your phone (with its private data and high replacement price tag) lying around a worksite, plus this one is ruggedized and weather-resistant. There is a shock-resistant orange bumper around the edge. You can leave it on a surface for reference, or leave it strapped to a pipe, and it'll likely survive the shift unscathed.

Love this unit. Mainly use it in my motorhome where I can put it about 15 feet away and fine tune level without having to go back and forth reading a level bubble. I can see it being very handy around the house too.
