GREAT KIT
I like to restore & sometimes mod old video game systems like Sega Genesis, Nintendo NES, Super Nintendo, Gameboys & such. This little kit has enough LED's to last a WHILE depending on how many projects you do. I recently bought a Sega Genesis for my 14 year old & ended up replacing the RESET switch. While I had it apart he wanted me to replace the original red LED with a blue one. It actually turned out pretty nice. I also modded an original Gameboy DMG & replaced the original red LED with a green one because I did a green theme. That turned out pretty awesome as well.

Short-length leads
Be aware that the legs for these LED's are very short

Great product, great value, but beware
These LEDs arrived in a very short time and in a nice box that protected them perfectly. I didn't test all 500 of them, but the ones I did test were fully within spec and nice and bright. At less than 3 cents per diode, they are an excellent value! They come in colored cases, which is helpful over those that come in clear cases and you have to run current through them to find out which color light they emit. Why the Amazon web page advertises them at "20 W" is beyond me - that is utter nonsense! If you push 20 W through them (i.e. typically around 6 A), you are not producing light but smoke! There is still one potential problem, that actually has nothing to do with the product itself: If you don't know how to compute the proper resistor to use with them, given the power supply you use, and the forward voltage and current that is provided with the diodes, you may set yourself up for a lot of frustration and potentially blown LEDs. Those LEDs can replace other LEDs but they are NOT energy-saving replacement for little conventional incandescent lightbulbs. The seller fails to mention that with sufficient clarity. So in the hands of those who know what they are doing, they are a great product and an excellent value.

Yellow and Green defective
The yellow and green light burn out as soon as they light up. They get very hot and are done quickly. The other 3 colors work great!

STEM Fun With LED Diode Emitting Lights
I love doing STEM projects with my kiddos. We explored squishy circuits with these gum drop LED diode emitting lights and also made LED light up cards. In the video clip, I connected the lights to 4 AA 1.5 V battery pack. So far, the white and blue lights survived the power. As shown in the clip, the green blew up. Not shown in the clip, but the yellow and red did not make it either. According to the cover label green is 3.0-3.2V the same as white and blue. So, green must be slightly weaker. I didn't count them all, but there are 500 of them. I think that will last a life-time. We had so much fun playing with these trying to light them up and that is all that matters. I just wish they were bigger. I highly recommend these lights.

A lot for the money
The leads on many of the LEDs are the same length, making it impossible to distinguish + and - .
