Buy Legacy Standard Bible, Single Column Text Only Edition - Black Hardcover by Steadfast Bibles (ISBN: 9781636641034) from desertcart's Book Store. Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Excellent translation, well printed and bound. - Clear printing, easy to read, just the text of the Bible, no study notes. Interesting differences in translation e.g. most English translations replace the Name of God with, "LORD," but this one uses the Name, "Yahweh," making it clear who it is talking about. Also, most translations avoid using the word, "slave," and use, "servant," instead. This translation accurately uses the word, "slave," where the Greek calls for it. Review: Nice easy to read - I like the layout of this - single column - so reads like a book. Only downside was expensive postage, so not sure where it was posted from.

Sometimes Amazon jumbles together editions. This review is for the "Legacy Standard Bible, Single Column Text Only Edition - Black Hardcover Hardcover – April 7 2022" (check attached photos) (the May 13, 2022 edition looks like it may be the same?). Big distinguishing factors for this edition are (1) BLACK HARDCOVER (2) SINGLE COLUMN (3) TEXT ONLY (4) NO RED TEXT I won't be going over the translation itself in this review. Bible came tightly plastic-wrapped. Corners were all bent in a little bit, possibly due to the tight wrapping. A few pages were a little stuck together at the edges, but were easy to separate and there were no major issues otherwise. Contrast is good, with sharp text against a white background, and the text is nicely aligned on opposite sides of each page. See the attached images for details (ORANGE arrows). The text formatting itself is different from many other Bibles. There are 2 standouts I'll mention first, and I'll follow with a few observations: First, this edition, and many other LSB editions do not use paragraphs, but instead use a new line for each verse. This makes for quick verse lookup, but can feel a bit disjointed when you sit down to read. Keep in mind that some verses start mid-sentence, so you end up with some sentences being split across lines. From what I can tell, as of right now (early 2025) it looks like the only versions that utilize multiple verses per paragraph include the LSB GIANT PRINT REFERENCE, the LSB COMPACT EDITION, and LSB PORTABLE PARAGRAPH REFERENCE (red letter version available). You should of course verify this before ordering if it's important to you. Second, this edition uses a single column. My preference would actually be for an edition that uses a single column + paragraphs, but unfortunately all single-column editions of the LSB use the new-line-per-verse method. There's a bit of room in the side-margins (a full inch on the outside of each page), so those who like to write their own notes do have some room. This Bible is a bit on the thicker side at just under 1700 pages. Next up, translation notes. They are completely absent in this edition. But hey, it IS called a "text only" edition. The editions that do include notes are the LSB CHILDRENS EDITION, the LSB 2 COLUMN VERSE-BY-VERSE, the LSB NEW TESTAMENT WITH PSALMS AND PROVERBS, the LSB COMPACT EDITION, the LSB NEW TESTAMENT WORKBOOK, the LSB INSIDE COLUMN REFERENCE (also has references), the LSB GIANT PRINT REFERENCE (also has references), and the LSB PORTABLE PARAGRAPH REFERENCE (also has references, red letter version available). Again, verify before ordering if this is important to you. Worth mentioning that there aren't pages with "extra features" in this Bible, though it does provide the basics - there's a FOREWARD that tells you a bit about how this Bible is designed (principles, terminology, greek/hebrew details), there's an EXPLANATION page (stating what it means when things like italics, asterisks or brackets are used), and at the end of the Bible a page for UNITS and for WEIGHTS & MEASUREMENTS. I myself prefer this minimalist clean-and-simple approach. The biggest downsides for the LSB versions in Canada at the time of this writing are price and availability. This is actually one of few editions available on Amazon here, and it's the cheapest (the others start at almost double the price). I'd normally give 4.5 stars due to the corners being bent in a bit, but since that's not an option I'm giving it a 5.

Would recommend this translation to anyone. It has the complexity in language of the ESV comparetively while readability of the NASB. It's base is primarily NASB, but there's a noticeable difference between the two that makes it feel like it's own, so you're not just buying another NASB. Still very faithful to the original text. Get ready to read Yahweh more often in this translation. I believe LORD is still there in some passages, but some have been changed to Tetragrammaton.

I absolutely love this Bible! I have a cowhide version, but I really wanted this one just to have it. For the price, I don’t think you will find a better hardcover Bible (especially with regard to the comfort of reading from a single-column, verse-by-verse organized bible. I really love this verse-by-verse layout. I genuinely find it very comfortable to read from. I’m a younger guy, so my vision is pretty decent. This font is very normal-sized. If you have bad vision, this might not be for you. I’d say grab a large print bible; and if you want a translation like this, go with the NASB 1995, this LSB translation is an upgrade from that one. It’s pretty much the same.

This is hands down THE best Bible version in print today! I just bought enough copies of this to let every person in the Bible study group have a copy. Reasons: It is a word for word literal translation in normal high school English It translates YHWH as Yahweh, not LORD. It doesn’t have denominational prejudice. It includes verses that are in some manuscripts but not others, but brackets them. It is printed in one wide column with space to write notes. This may be the last Bible you ever have to buy!
