Mens Jungle Moc Nubuck Waterproof

These are AMAZING! I've been wearing these for work for a few months now I'm very happy. I'm a surgical technologist and often have to stand for long periods of time in one place Some days I'm also running like a nurse. I previously had the suede version of this shoe and wore it over a year just for work before my heels started to burn. But even after that it was still a decent walking shoe. Plus, if you work in surgery, you really want to have a shoe that can be easily wiped of fluids and, let's just say, debris. I started wearing these about a year ago when I notice a lot of the anesthesiologist were wearing them in the operating room. This leather version is great! It's super easy to clean and it only took 2-3 days to break in. The shoe is very comfortably to stand in and my feet never hurt from wearing these for 10 hour shifts. However, I did add my own shoe insert from Dr. Scholl's just to add more cushion. The nonslip sole is good for wet surfaces but it so good on dry hospital floors that it's sometimes difficult to pivot like when your wearing a sneaker. I'm really careful to move my feet in the direction I want to go in like when I turn from the mayo stand to my back table or if I'm rounding a hallway corner quickly. I think it's because the shoe is designed for outdoor walking so I don't really see it as a flaw. I do wish it came in a prettier design. Yes I know it's a men shoe. I'm a lady. And I'm a little...fluffy. So, I get the men's shoe because it has more cushion than the woman's version of this. So I don't expect girly pink flowered versions of this but just any other color option beside black and brown. Other than that the shoe is perfect for work!

this is my first moc type shoe. merrell's shoes pretty much always feel good when first worn , these were no different. they were purchased for an upcoming trip, i wore them with a heavier sock. wore them all day, really no major break-in period. so after just a few wears, i think I'm good to go. not heavy, comfy fit.the waterproof version were a little more expensive than the no-waterproof, but i think it may pay off over time. aug/ 2017

From the other reviews, it's clear that diabetics and cripples love these shoes, but I wanted to assure potential buyers that they're NOT orthopedics. Young, athletic, sexy guys like them too (no offense dear diabetics and cripples--I aspire to be one of you someday). I *hate* tying my shoes. It's such a waste of time. I treat all of my sneakers as slip-ons and I crush the heel within days. I go through shoes like there's no tomorrow. I've had fitting problems before, so I was a bit skeptical of these at first, and I bought my first pair a half size too small (lamentably, I bought them in Hong Kong, so they were a tad difficult to return) to ensure a tight fit. That was completely unnecessary. After purchasing the correct size, I discovered that these things are amazingly well-designed. They magically hug your feet in the most comfortable manner--no slipping or sliding about. Oh, and they can be worn with EVERYTHING. Of course, I'm a guy...so everything can be worn with anything. But really, these shoes are beautiful. Two days ago, I discovered something completely unexpected (I didn't read the shoe literature...maybe it's expected): They're surprisingly water-resistant. It was pouring here in California (East Coast translation: "It was a tad humid") and I stepped in a huge puddle while wearing my Gunsmoke Jungle Mocs. I flinched and waited for the gangrene to set in. Fourteen blocks and six puddles later, my feet were still dry. And did I mention I've been wearing this pair of shoes for over 9 months now? After finishing this review, I am going to go buy three more pairs of Merrell Jungle Moc shoes (gunsmoke, of course). Seriously. I don't know what I'll do if they stop making them.

I've had many Merrell Mocs suede, waterproof and non-waterproof. They're almost always comfortable from the very start (one exception that needed heel pads). I wear them all the time, and I've never been disappointed. And, until now, they've always run true to size. However, I just tried the Nubucks for the first time, and they were very tight. So I returned them and ordered a half size up, and that worked. They're still a little snug in the width with thin socks, but they'll probably stretch out and accommodate the thick winter wools I'll be needing soon. For quality and reliability, these have been great. I appreciate that Merrell has kept the design the same for, literally, decades.

Merrell makes great shoes. If you have problems with aching feet, give these a try.

Purchased these shoes for winter travel to Ireland and Germany. They arrived on time as promised, look great, fit perfectly right out of the box, and are very comfortable. They kept my feet dry and warm while walking throughout our trip in rain, snow, and sleet. I definitely recommend these shoes.

Great shoes

I am sad I haven’t discovered this shoe earlier. Gone are the days of soaked socks and shoes. Fits my feet just great. Does feel a little stiff around the edges as it is new, but a solid build overall and a premium texture feel.

Comfortable fit and well insulating sole for walking on unpaved areas.
