Worth Every Penny
This camera performed and exceeded my expectations. My project was adding lights in the ceiling in a first floor room of a two story house. Anyone who has done this knows that adding lights to the ceiling on the second floor is easy, but there is no attic, no crawl space in a first floor ceiling. This camera told me everything I needed to know. I used it extensively on the project first to scope things out, later to locate the fishtape, to confirm that I had penetrated the header and was in the soffet (that is pictured where you can see the bright light. I stuck a small halogen bulb in my "header hole" then went back to where my recessed lighting was to go and confirmed I was "in". Gonna try to tell a story of where if I did not have this camera I either would have had to abandon the project or do major demolition. In one wall (it's an interior sheer wall so it is covered with OSB and sheet rock) I discovered blocking about half way up the wall. To penetrate that with a drill and get my wire through the hole would have been VERY MESSY and a LOT OF TIME. As I was using the camera, I discovered that a copper pipe ran through this same blocking in the wall. About 3" away from where the copper pipe went through, the camera revealed this splintered dark area. I got the camera closer and discovered it was a hole through the blocking. My guess is that it was a "mistake hole" drilled by the plumber during construction of the house. I used the camera to guide my fishtape to the hole and it went all the way through and didn't stop until it reached the header. I was absolutely stunned and was doing mental backflips. This absolutely would NOT have been possible without this camera. The image is clear, the rigid cable makes "driving" the camera easy. I give this product 5 stars and would ABSOLUTELY recommend it to a friend - with ZERO hesitation. Thank you Fantronics!

It works !!!!!!!
Been watching these for years waiting for prices to come down I noticed this one and went ahead and got it since it was so inexpensive and while this thing is great the court is so long I've used it for several random things. I'm 67 I'm not great on the computer but I can get by I was able to download the app set it up on the phone it actually went pretty quick. I put the app on my home screen and it's super simple I just hit the app with the thing plugged into my phone and it's all ready to go so simple I can't believe it I used it also for a backup camera on my Jeep when I take my boat down to the dock I just stick it in the tread of my spare tire on back door in the cord goes all the way to the front drivers area where my phone is it's like my own backup camera. Just so many uses unbelievable. Planning on using it for my kayak so I can stick it underwater look around while fishing. Ha.

Worth the money overall.
I have to be honest here, for the price this is a great snake scope. The image comes in clear when you get the app installed. I read through the reviews before buying it and the two main complaints people had were that it's not a USB C end and that the software didn't work. The software is likely an issue due to user error. Most phones come installed with a block to any 3rd party app which this needs to function. Once you turn the 3rd party blocker off it allows you to install the app. The app worked great for me. The other issue of it not being USB C I can say that my particular unit arrived as a USB C so no complaints from me. The rigidity of the cable is rather good, the lights of the camera end are fantastic and there is a dimmer wheel to control how bright or dim you want it to be. Now the negative I did run in to was connection issues. The camera would only stay "connected" for a minute or two at a time. The plug itself seemed secure and only when moved to one angle did it "disconnect" and shut off the camera. I tested several chargers as well as USB connections to my computer, laptop, and Xbox and all of them didn't disconnect so I think it's a slight flaw in the scopes plug that disconnects. With that being said it's a great option for anyone who wants to get a great scope at a great price. Just beware that you may or may not run into the connection issue as I have. But honestly I just prop the phone up and it works just fine. It also comes with an adapter for a USB and a micro USB as well. So if your not using a type C device it will still work for your laptop or other micro USB phone, sorry Apple users.

It's OK as a single-use tool
I bought this looking for basically the cheapest USB snake camera I could find to look behind some drywall to see the extent of some water damage before just tearing it out. I've used it a few times and the quality is barely up to the task to see what's going on. The light on the end is nice, but the picture quality is poor. It's also hard to navigate, but maybe that's a normal expectation of these cameras. To get it behind the wall I drilled a hole a little bit bigger than you'd use for a drywall anchor, but not so big I couldn't patch it with standard drywall putty, so the size of it is nice. That said, the 3 or so jobs I've used it for I've had mixed results on being confident about it. Now if you are trying to find if there are pipes behind a wall (and are willing to drill the camera in for it), it's good enough for that but wasn't good enough to see the dark/light shades of wet/dry wood of joists and drywall to see how far water got. I used an app called "USB Camera Viewer" by Homesoft, LLC on the Play store (Android) to use the camera and it worked perfectly. I tried to find a 3rd party app with the least amount of spooky permissions requests and no ads. I think the camera suggests an app (not made by the company) but I didn't try it. It's nice that this shows up as a standard USB camera at least.

valuable when you need one!
works great, have used this once to find things that damn cat pushed off the back of the desk next to the wall. Desk is custom made to fit the space on 3 sides of the room and has to come apart to move.

Can Make DIY Drain/Sewage Camera/Endoscope
I was looking at buying a sewage scope, but they ranged from $200 to $2000. After watching a video about a guy who made his own with a hand auger and a camera like this Fantronics I thought I'd give it a go (already had the auger). Tried four apps from the Android Play Store before I found one that works with this generic OTG USB camera (and records video/takes pictures as a plus, but only limited amounts unless you pay for the full version). Don't know if I can post name so look for one that touts it does Color and is for an Endoscope/Borescpoe (2023 version worked for me) from a company who adversities it is Easy and says it is a Master Connect-er. I just put some painter's tape to connect the end of the camera to the snake and then zip tied over to give mechanical connection too. I could make out what I was seeing and it served its purpose. There is one twice as long on the platform that rhymes with emu if you need one and don't mind the long shipping time.

The sneaky, sleazy, thing no one MENTIONED!!!
Clearly the positive reviews I've read, did not include the fact that, you are not JUST buying a scope, because their software, includes adware, and "watermarks" and it is annoying to me, but along with the scope, I also bought the privilege to pay more for the scope, by buying a package for $2.99 a month or for the whole year for $27.90 and they won't nag you again next year. Isn't that nice of them? If I had to guess, I bet that they will also auto charge for you as well. Just looked back over the ad information for this product and I still don't see any warnings about the adware in their software, or the watermarks, or that the "freeware" is deliberately crippled so they can sell you the same software with all the options & a better quality picture. I have also gone to their website and if you go there...well, you should go to their website: camerafistore.com. How comfortable does that make you feel? For me it's at the same level as finding several hypodermic needles on the beach that I'm walking on, but not as bad as finding dead junkies in the parking lot of my daughters school. For me at least, I feel like I just bought a used car, but failed in thinking that I needed to make sure that the sale included the tires. Oh, and to drive that point home, (no pun intended) did you know that this item also has a case? You can buy that too, separately, for about $7.00 bucks. So I'm planning to return this item because the morals of the distributer are broken. It's sneaky, it's sleazy, it's oily, and it's wrong.

Great scope camera
I had an older scope camera that I had for a few years. It worked but didn't really have enough light to look in the dark places I wanted to go. I needed to change because I changed my charger port from micro to USB C otherwise I wouldn't have looked for a new one. I'm so glad I did. I can easily see 4 feet in total darkness (Where else would you be looking but in the dark). There is a label on the camera that is only the manufactures name but it gives you an "UP" direction for the camera so you can get orientation. There is a dimmer wheel on the cable to turn the LED lights down or all the way off. It also came with a hook, a magnetic and a mirror attachment. I didn't play with those much but I didn't have much luck using the mirror when the LED light was on. I don't think that is a feature I will ever use, but the magnet and hook might come in handy some day. Not sure how far you could stretch it out but the wire is stiff and stays where you put it. So glad I bought this new one. Worked great on my Samsung Galaxy A50 with the OTG viewer app.

Probably the most ripped off I've felt in years!! Flimsy, photo quality sux, plug is junk and will definitely break, I don't get why anyone would give this a good review. 0 Stars
