PowerPure 5000 Warm & Cool Mist Ultrasonic Humidifier - Permanent Filter - LCD Display - Remote Control - White

I bought a black one over a year ago and I'm glad I did. It does a good job and I like seeing the temp and relative humidity display. I like the large capacity and the Ion option. I also like being able to set the humidity level (it turns off when it reaches the level you set). Simple to operate. You have to lift the canister off, flip it upside down, unscrew the cap, and then fill it with water. It fits under my sink faucets just fine. However, when full of water it weights about 15 pounds so it could be a problem for some people to handle - espiecially if it is sitting up on a counter. One container usually lasts about 12 hours. Be sure to fill it before bedtime as it chimes softly for a while when it runs out of water. I purchased two more of these a couple of months ago. One put out only a whisper of vapor. I called the company, described the issue, and they shipped another that arrived a few days later. No hassle. The two new ones were white with clear plastic containers. The black one has tinted plastic. The white is much brighter at night than the black one and we could not use it in the bedroom. The white works well as a night light on our kitchen counter. Like all devices, and espiecially humidifiers, they require cleaning. The black one shows calcuim deposits more than the white one does.

I have purchase two PowerPure 5000 Humidifiers and both of them have developed leaks. They both worked for a period of months. But after a period of just sitting (about 3 to 4 weeks), they both started to leak.

Third time filling and replacing the water tank the plastic handle snapped off. At least the tank didn't break or crack. Don't turn up too high or you'll have water droplets all over the place. It does do a good job adding humidity.

We bought this and another brand (Levoit) because they both looked interesting. This one was much more expensive and leaked. We returned it and bought another Levoit.

Nice, steady stream of mist, doesn't take long to moisturize my 800 sq ft apartment. Kitchen, living room and bathroom takes about 1 hour. Love that it has both warm for when I have a cold and and cool mist for when I am healthy but have dry skin. Does wonders for plants!

Good unit. While the sound is different from other units I've owned it is not as quiet as it's written up to be. I have two issues.....the Power Pure gets 4 stars because there is no way to turn off the blue light that lights up the tank at night. Highly annoying to me...I am covering the clear part of the tank with dark paper or fabric. For what this unit costs there should be a built in feature to turn the light off. The other is that when the tank is removed and turned over there is more water dripping out than I would expect. I;d have a towel or dishpan handy. But overall I would recommend it as it does a good job and the sound is not as annoying as say the Air-o-Swiss.

Works well!! I use it for drying marijuana. It regulates the humidity so well!
