Coloriages mystères Disney - Girl Power

I ordered three mystery coloring books — Coloriages mystères Disney: Girl Power, Coloriages mystères: Mangas, and Coloriages mystères: Looney Tunes — on June 22 and received them in Korea on July 4, which is quite fast! All three books are beautifully made and really fun to work with. The Disney: Girl Power book is full of strong female characters and has a great mix of classic and modern designs. The Mangas edition features cool anime-style artwork, and the final colored pages look amazing. As for the Looney Tunes book, it’s nostalgic and super cheerful — perfect for relaxing. The paper quality is good, the color code system is easy to follow, and the final results are very satisfying. I definitely recommend these for anyone who enjoys mystery coloring books or just wants to unwind creatively.

I'll be honest; I almost didn't buy this thing because of the price, but I am SO glad that I did. I've always enjoyed coloring and crafty things, especially as an adult. I put on some soft music, light a candle, and just focus on the craft, and I find it so relaxing. I haven't been coloring as much lately because, pathetic as it may sound, the process of picking colors and then having to figure out how to fit them into the picture has been more stressful than it's worth. That's where the color by number comes in: it does all of the hard work for you! The most brain power you have to exert is matching your colored pencils to the provided key. And to top it off, it's Disney! As a woman in my mid-20's, Disney was basically my whole childhood. The images in this coloring book are just intricate enough to be interesting, while also providing a touch of nostalgic comfort and acting as a great outlet for stress. And the pictures come out looking phenomenal. They do take a hot minute to color; in the picture of Vanellope that I did, her hair alone took me 2 hours to fill in. But I'm also a meticulous perfectionist with clinically diagnosed OCD, so that might have something to do with it too. Either way, this book is great, and I will definitely be buying more from the Disney Mystery collection.

This coloring book does well with acrylic paint markers. The pages aren’t super thick so I’d be careful to add a piece of plastic under the page you’re working on to ensure the strength of the page. Otherwise, it’s an odd white paper that shows the ink or paint very well.

I spent hours trying to match perfect colors to what they suggest at the bottom and was a bit disappointed in the result. Past that I started comparing the colors to the back of the book instead and they look a bit better. Paper quality is okay. But do not use alcohol markers as the pages are double sided and they will destroy the back image.

Love this for my "me time" mom.
