EZ Home and Office Address Book Software

I purchased this on December 9th, received on the 12th, and was printing out samples to edit my Christmas labels the very next evening after work. This was well worth a few extra dollars than the cheaper programs (I did try one of the cheaper ones and it was a waste of time and money). Having been so frustrated by other programs, I value this even more, so I highly recommend it to anyone who needs something elegant and uncomplicated.Thank you Mr. Ellwood!I am the person they had in mind when writing those "For Dummies" books. I needed a little help importing data from Excel spreadsheet I had made The owner-designer of this software was available to personally guide me through the process by phone.I eventually did not need this, because I found the way to do it, but the fact that emails were exchanged, and support is freely and quickly available, is extraordinary in our less-personal culture. Upgrades are also offered free as available. The importing of old data went smoothly and the results were very clean with good formatting and printing options.Additional review after having used this over one year:I have now used this for a school database; I was able to create categories for each child by age range, so I can sort and give each teacher their own class roster. I can print out the master roster of course, and I can print the "notes" including the names of parents and any other info (who picks the child up, allergy information). The "copy" feature is great for families with several kids, eliminating the need to type out all their phone numbers and emails multiple times.I did not need fancy grids or tables such as in Excel and other software, with the hassle of formatting cells etc. The address book format is very clean and professional.Again, the service that Mr Elwood gives to this product is extraordinary; he responds right away to email contacts asking for help.Totally worth it, can't recommend this enough especially for those who, like myself, are not particularly gifted with computer skills.

EZ Address BookI bought EZ Address Book to manage my Christmas card list. I have a USB optical drive making installation easy. The fields and categories are customizable, you can add any category that meets your needs. The city and state fields enter automatically when you enter the five digit ZIP code. If you want to use the ZIP + 4, wait until the city and state fields populate before adding the +4. My Christmas card list was not in another database, I had to enter names and addresses manually. The paste feature simplified the process and reduced the potential for misspelling of names and addresses. Printing labels is easy. Select the address or addresses you want, choose the label and print. EZ Address Book also prints envelopes. We get our cards from Shutterfly, EZ Address Book allows me to customized the envelope size to match the size of the envelope from Shutterfly. EZ Address Book also prints my return address on the envelope. No more peeling and attaching labels. That will save me so much work. Editing the list is so much easier with EZ Address Book. If I need to make a change for a particular person, I simply search for the name, make the changes and save. Maintaining the data base is just as easy. I can check for duplicate names a big plus for large data bases. Best of all for me, it is a stand alone program. No subscriptions or other fees once you purchase the program. One reviewer complained the program does not print bar codes. The program does not need to. The Postal Service imprints bar codes when the mail is being processed on mail that does not have a bar code.

I needed a program that would print labels. The word processing program installed on my computer just would not print labels. I found this EZ Home & Office software on-line. I am so happy that I did. The program will do more then just print labels and I love the way you can sort the labels. It's easy to use and the support for the program is wonderful. The only tiny problem I have with it is that it won't print envelopes. This has only happened once or twice with other users so it's something peculiar to my printer. I would not let this stop me from purchasing this program again. It is a wonderful program and I am very happy that I have it. Elwood Software is great to work with and gives excellent support. If you are looking for label printing software, give this one a try. I don't think you will regret it.

We have enjoyed and appreciated this address program. We had no problem with the problem. Rather, we had a problem with the Dell laptop computer. It stopped working. We had the computer worked on, but the address program did not survive. We don't know how to recover the software. We do not know if there is any possibility todo that. We do want to move the program to a different computer, the one that I am using now. We do recommend the EZ Home and Office Address Book Software. Don W. Hamilton

This software is a simple stand-alone address book that's not only printable, but prints labels, birthday lists, category lists, Christmas card lists, and much more. Some of the fields are customizable which is great, so if you don't like the names of the various phone number fields, you can change the field names. When you print the address book, it prints ALL information including notes or you can choose fields. You can also create custom categories for contacts and contacts can belong to multiple categories. If you prefer privacy, this is the contacts organizer for you -- it's not online. If you are fed up with Google and Outlook, you'll love this. My only issue was trying to import my Outlook contacts via a csv file. Mapping fields was a nightmare - mainly because of Outlook's hundreds of worthless fields and not being able to ignore the Outlook fields that I didn't want to map. That's okay... I just re-entered everything which allowed me to "clean house" in my contacts list. I was also able to load the software on my desktop and laptop with no restrictions. Thank you Jeff Elwood for creating such an easy, practical address book. Your software is the only one I've come across that includes all my requirements for a great contact organizer.

This will be only my first review. After downloading... first thing was that it's not an "intuitive" program. I did figure out how to fill in a record but it would not accept the record without filling in a one of over a dozen choices such as family, friends, etc. My major concern is the program's ability to import my old ACT 4 data bases which was the main reason I bought this program over others. It says that it will recognize and import "most" types of files. Exact step by step is not included in help... only a generalization. My son is a computer wiz and has agreed to see if he can figure it out. I sent request for help but have not heard back. I'll report back later after we have results of the import feature.Up-Date - I can now say that I think this is a very good choice if you want a easy to use Address Book with many cool features. I will have to say that the importing of old databases was a little too much for me to do with my limited knowledge of databases. However, with my Son's help we were to Export old Act 4 databases into the format that EZ could recognize. The key is to take time editing the field titles to match up with those offered by EZ... or know how to add your own. Once all that was done... the "Mapping" of each Field was pretty much straight forward and once you click the import button and Walla! it's all there in an instant.I have personally talked to the owner Jeff and he was very helpful... Service from the top... that's not very common these days. I give my strong recommendation of this product not only for it's quality... but great service.

For the past 35 years, I've been using ACT contact software. I had a database with over 1500 contacts. I'm now retired and have a little less than 300 contacts, including, friends, relatives, neighbors, services people, restaurants, etc. EZ Home & Office is a dream come true. I always felt that ACT had so much to it that I never used.All I needed and wanted was a database to keep track of my business contacts and remind myself when it was time to call them. In addition, I wanted to remember birthdays. EZ Home & Office would have worked so much better than ACT for me. I wish I had discovered this program years ago.In addition, it is so user friendly, "even a caveman" could understand it. It has some very nice features, like being able to choose the screen colors and add categories. I love it!Now for the best part: The customer service and tech support is just top notch. A lot of software companies have a bureaucracy set up for customer service and tech support that makes you want to just give up. EZ Home and Office will reply to an email and even call you if you request. I got almost immediate tech support and my problem was resolved faster than ordering at McDonalds. All right, I exaggerated a little, but it was great.This software is more than reasonably priced and it comes with a money back guarantee. You have nothing to lose to try it. As you can see by my review, I am a happy camper. This program meets my needs to a "T."
