EDC, yeah. Everyday use? No.
I'll just cut to the point. The knife I received is absolutely flawless. The finish is perfect, the grinds are perfec,t the bevels are perfect, all the way round. I've never had knives come so sharp out of the box as the ones I've purchased from Cold Steel, and I think this one wins the prize. My securex sheath is also flawless- it has a very tight retention but is still pretty easy to push off with the thumb. The Ulti-clip that comes with it is strong as a tank. You clip this thing on and it's going to stay anywhere you put it.I read about the different color variants that came with this knife depending on the batch I've heard silver bronze or gray... Mine happens to be all black just like in the pictures, and it looks great. No matter what color, this is all the same steel and it is excellent, pure carbon steel. Read up on 52100. It rings like a tuning fork when you flick the blade... There's one important correction for Alexa, however. As she states that these knives are made in America, when in fact mine was made in Taiwan. And I am 100% A-Okay with that because Taiwan is where most of CS's very best knives come from.Oil it as soon as you get it, and always, to protect the fresh sharpened bevel from corrosion. Lastly, this thing is a really serious tool. It's made to be concealed and that means it's made so that nobody ever knows that you're carrying it. You could carry it around everyday, but it's not a user. Don't use this for normal everyday knife tasks, because you'll look like an ass for pulling it out and you'll probably cut yourself too.

Beautiful little boot knife
What an awesome little hunk of steel! I got it for a great price. It's the perfect size for concealment. It's not the most balanced as it's blade heavy. It feels indestructable. The sheath has perfect retention. I wouldn't hesitate to say, mount it upside down on a plate carrier. I can't speak to other reviewers, but my sample there's no way the knife would fall out. It's extremely sharp and I love the midnight blue-ish color. Everything screams quality.

Good size and discreet
I've been looking for a small, fixed blade, discreet knife, with a sheath, that I can put in my pocket when I walk. This knife fits the bill and fits in my sweatshirt pocket, vs. boot, quite nicely. I found the blade to be straight and sharp and didn't have any issues as mentioned in some other reviews. I like the finger guard on the knife handle which provides a firmer grip and safety in the event I actually have to use the knife. The clip on the sheath grips quite well and I had no problems with the knife falling out of the sheath or dragging on it per other reviews. For you girls out there, yes, this will firmly clip on the leg pocket of your yoga pants, but with the stretchiness of the fabric, you will not be able to easily extract the knife from the sheath if needed. I really like this knife and thought it was quite the bargain for the price point. It would make a good stocking stuffer and it's not just for the fellas.

My second one
This is a handy, no-nonsense boot knife. It won't win a beauty contest because practicality trumps aesthetics here. There's nothing to break, come loose, or discolor with time. It's just a chunk of ball bearing steel that's been honed to a razor edge on both sides. I have much more expensive and ornate knives and the problem with those is that I really don't want to screw them up. This one is cheap enough to abuse and well-made enough to take it.The sheath is great. It secures the knife tightly and has a variety of options for integrating it with whatever you've got to work with. 1" leather or nylon straps fit perfectly. This is my second one. The first one is still alive and kicking but I let my son talk me out of it. A couple of weeks later, I regretted the decision so much that I ordered another. Though there was nearly ten years between both purchases, the new knife is just a great as the original. Happy with the purchase.

Crazy good durablity
Genuinely good knife right here I have had it for a few months and it's solid and is crazy sharp I haven't used it much but this thing is beyond normal sharpness be careful when you get it but yeah I would definitely recommend it has great value.Crazy good durability on this thing I mean its like a single solid piece which gives great peace of mind and lets you use it with like not fear(some people are saying the knife has gone through the sheath and cut them but it has worked pretty well for me so maybe it was just a fluke mine has been fine for a while

Really nice knife, woth some glaring issues that aren't unsolvable.
I really like EVERYTHING about this knife, except the grip design. It's pointed out in most reviews, and I will agree.Knowing that it is not really meant to have a handle, I think they could have designed a much better handle. It's not as slippery to me, as some say. I would hate to wrap it, as the concave design will not allow a true surface to grip contact. There would be a hollow space for junk to build up. I typically deal with handles like this, with bat tape (Lizardskins is the best, to me.) I got some hockey tape, thinking it might be a bit thinner. But that won't really work. I suppose one could dip in on truck bed liner or something, but there isn't a great solution. The knife's blade is perfect, and it's well balanced and solid. Heavy for it's size. The kydex sheath fits it well, but I do NOT like it's unique clamp clip. I understand that it's a "boot knife," and maybe it's fine on a boot with your pants rolled over it. That's a concealed weapon, and although there's a permit most can aquire to make thar legal, I don't like the spring clasp. It's really just too small. This is a heavy knife, for it's size and I don't trust the snap shut design as it is. To me it should be twice it's size, to hold it on a belt, or anything. It appears removable, but it does not seem to be easy to remove and may break the sheath getting it off. IF you can get it off, you could use any clip you could ordinarily use on a kydex sheath .When I get the courage, I intend to remove it, and likely go with a tek-loc.The knife is extremely strong, and I can't imagine even chipping off the tip. But the weirdly slippery handle make it an awkward knife to use. The clasp inspires no confidence. It's just too small, and would potentially damage whatever you clip it to, and likely fall off all of the time.I have big hands, and I feel like I can grip it OK. But it doesn't handle well. Which sort of defeats the purpose of a boot knife. It's fairly unique, and I will find something it is good at, but not without rigging the handle in likely a less than glamorous way, and replacing the earring sized clip on part.

Good knife
Great knife. Very strong.

Cold Steel banger
You won't find a better boot knife/ dagger for this price. Every bevel is perfectly ground and this thing is slicey as hell. The weight and balance is perfect and I love 52100. Its a great low alloy steel and tough enough for most applications here. Cold Steel does it again.

Perfect boot knife for throwing
Arrived a day earlier than expected. Quality of the knife is excellent, nice sheath and metal clip too, feels military grade because of the metal spring clip. I bought it for an emergency EDC throwing knife, and so far I think it is the best boot knife for throwing. It slides perfectly out of my hand with no resistance, and the weight is nice too, not too light that it makes it hard to throw long distances, and not too heavy that it makes it annoying to carry daily. I find the smooth handle doesn't rub or catch things easily when you are wearing it, especially compared to other boot knives with rubberized handles.

Stiefelmesser

Awesome price, tough tool that's gonna last forever
This is my favorite series of fixed blade from Cold Steel, and at the price I simply can't pass it up. The discount is likely lower than wholesale price some shops get. I own other Cold Steel fixed blades with the same material, it's super tough and not hard to maintain and sharpen, would last you a life time with normal usage.
