Does the zip open for safe access? A zip that does not is a tripping hazard!

Yes it zips in the front. It can zip "open" fully so you can put it on like a house coat and then zip up and the 3/4 length zipper. I have MS with balance issues. I can assure you it isn't a tripping hazard for myself.

How does the sizing run?

The sizing is a little big but not too big where it does not look right.. My wife loves hers.
