LOVE THIS CAMERA!
I would give this camera more stars if I could!! My mother purchased this camera for me because I live by myself and my neighbors were harassing the CRAP out of me! I had it plugged in on my front porch and the neighbors put my landlord up to going up on my porch and taking it, my landlord told me he destroyed it because "he didn't want a security camera on his property". To make a long story short he lied and gave it to my neighbors. These were people at one time I thought were good and fairly intelligent........they soon learned that just because its not plugged in doesnt mean its not working. About 3-4 days after it was taken I got a notification and the camera was showing me live feed of my neighbors with my camera in their garage with their young children bragging about taking my camera, taking pics of my camera, at one point they even said "its even wireless" which should have clued them in that ITS WORKING and if that didn't do it then the little red flashing light should have!. Their home was about 100 yards from my home and the camera was still using my wifi, it still had a almost full battery and had been unplugged for about 4 days. I went to the deputy sheriffs office and the officer asked how I knew they had my camera and I showed him the live feed, he grinned and said "come on WE gotta ride up there" and of course they lied and denied having the camera then the officer dropped the bomb on them and told them "yes you do! It was about 6 minutes ago I watched you and her waving into it, laughing having a good time because you thought you gotta away with something, now this is gonna go only one way either I go get it or you go get it but one way or other that camera is coming out of there right now!" My neighbor went and got it and handed it to the officer. LMAO!! Talk about your hometown dumb crook news!! So anyone can see why I sing this cameras praises!! Great picture, sound is very clear and audible, the motion detection is dead on, the wifi reception picks up from a very long distance, the battery lasts for a very long time without recharging, of course I was not continuously recording just with motion! The price was unbeatable, even though my neighbor said "its one of those high dollar cameras", it was not and an actual expensive camera could not be better than this little camera. My son seen it and he bought one and he loves his too!!

WoW, Great Camera for the Price!!
I had one Allweviee Solar Security Camera a week and was so impressed, I purchased another one. (To be fair, the second one had a fault in the Wi-Fi connectivity, so I returned it for a replacement. I have never replaced anything before until now! That is how much I am impressed by these cameras.) These cameras have great night vision with the option to have infrared or a spotlight for recordings. I like how I can move the camera to any position in the yard no matter where I am. Unlike Ring and Arlo (I had both and returned), they do not pick up every car passing by if I have it aimed in the correct position. I get about 120โฐ of my yard. I also do not have to climb on a ladder every time I want to change the position. The solar charging capability is awesome. Another awesome reason I do not have to climb on a ladder to charge the battery. **No the camera does not rotate to follow activity. It is just used to find the proper position you want.** Another WOW about Allweviee Solar Security Cameras, the lithium batteries did not freeze up, disabling the cameras when it got well below zero degrees in Montana! I still had operable cameras. (Maybe it is because they are new. I will just have to wait until next year.) I do know that the business across the street has hard-wired cameras, and they do freeze rendering them useless. The cameras have a sleep schedule if I do not want the cameras to record 24/7. Because the cameras are solar charged, I can have them recording all the time without too much worry about the batteries dying. I added micro SD cards to increase storage. I can choose how long I want my recordings or "auto" to continuously record as long as there is motion. After having the Allweviee Solar Security Cameras for over a month, I am happy to say I am quite pleased. The picture, video and sound quality are as good as you are going to get (probably even better) for the price point. Installation was quick and easy. All I needed was a drill with a screwdriver drill bit. I even installed my first camera with it was about five degrees outside! It took me a little longer - about ten to fifteen minutes. There is no 1-800 number to talk to a live person, which I'm not too thrilled about. However you are given an email to contact customer service. They are spot on about getting back to you within 12 hours. No matter, I would rather "speak" to a live person than rather try to explain my questions via email. All in all, Allweviee Solar Security Cameras are definitely FIVE STARS!

Waaay better than I expected
These cameras are so worth the money. I was shocked at the quality of these cameras and how easy they were to install and maneuver. The app is easy to install and to learn to use. The camera quality is really decent and you can "pinch zoom" the video from the app. The rotation feature is great and the ability of using 2-way communication is quite convenient. I can't say this will work for everyone, but if you turn the light on the camera at night, the cam goes from an infrared image to color - even in the dark. I *really* didn't expect that to work so well, but it does. The solar charger works - but you HAVE TO BE PATIENT. It's more like a "trickle" charger but seems to charge the cameras over a period of days. I don't have mine mounted in the absolute *best* position given the configuration of my house, but they still charge and seem to use very little power when they do operate. If there are any nit criticisms, the volume on the speaker and alarm are not very loud, but that may be a positive if you're worried about bothering your neighbors. It IS loud enough to unnerve anyone close to it, as I turned it on as a gag with friends and family members and they DID jump when they heard it - so maybe that's the point! Anyway, I'd say if you have any doubts - especially for the cost - don't. Try it out and see if you're as impressed as I was.

Best PTZ-solar camera I've tested so far. Lots of features. Testing continues.
I bought 3 mounted on my roof's facia 10, 20, and 70 feet from the Arris modem-router inside the house, mounted East, West and South. Generally the solar panel keeps the battery fully charged unless you use the features a lot. I once left the "auto night vision" on overnight which depleted the fully charged battery and had to climb a ladder and manually turn the camera on in the morning. That sucked. The zoom feature is digital, not optical so photos and videos aren't recorded magnified. Cameras can only be connected one at a time. The two closer cameras connect without much delay, but the one at 70' sometimes doesn't, so I ordered two Deco X55 network routers to connect to the Arris, and will later upgrade to a faster Spectrum line to up the entire system. Right now I'm clocking at a miserable 55mbs download and 11mbs upload speeds. These cameras are a quantum leap from my wired legacy Wilife system which I bought around 2009 which I use as backup but is obsolete. I haven't subscribed to their cloud service (yet) but might for one camera. Of the 3-4 similar solar driven cameras I've tested over the years, this is the best and worth the 40 bucks each I paid, not considering the 2 additional network routers ($90) for extended range and efficiency which I'm eager to test. If that works, I may get a 4th camera even farther out. I may add an updated review later. Updated review 1/23/26 I bought a 4th camera. The solar panel on one quit. I hope Allwevie reads this and send me a replacement . The fourth camera's night vision never worked, and i don't know how to fix that. Hoping tech support helps out.

๐ซ DO NOT BUY THESE CAMERAS โ THEY ARE NO LONGER VIDEO CAMERAS
๐ซ DO NOT BUY THESE CAMERAS โ THEY ARE NO LONGER VIDEO CAMERAS Iโve owned these cameras for 2โ3 years, adding one each year as they proved useful, when they actually worked. But as of July 2025, everything changed. The Vicohome app, which controls these cameras, kept prompting me to update. I hesitated, sensing something was off. After finally updating, all three cameras mysteriously lost battery charge , despite being connected to solar panels with direct sunlight daily. I recharged them and re-added them to the Vicohome system. Then came the real shock: A new notice appeared : โSubscribe to see new events in video.โ The cameras were still recording, but I was now locked out of viewing any footage unless I paid for a subscription. All I can see now is a thumbnail : a frozen frame from the video. Thatโs it. So letโs be honest: These are no longer video cameras. Theyโre motion sensors with a teaser image. My actual video footage, the core function I paid for, is being held hostage behind a paywall. Itโs like buying a pen and being told you need a subscription to see what youโve written. Imagine: - Buying a car, and two years later being told you canโt turn the ignition unless you pay a subscription. - Turning on your TV, only to be blocked from watching any channels unless you pay $49.99/year, after already owning it for years. Thatโs exactly whatโs happening here. Itโs deceptive, unethical, and feels like a bait-and-switch. This kind of retroactive paywall on a core function should be illegal. I contacted Amazonโs Consumer Relations Team. Their response? A $42 credit. No solution. No accountability. Just a suggestion to contact the manufacturer, who, letโs be honest, will likely do nothing. Amazon must hold sellers to higher standards. Consumers should not be punished for trusting a product that was later crippled by a software update. This is fraud, plain and simple. Either restore the original functionality or refund every affected customer. Photo shown: Taken today, 8/5/2025 โ this is a screenshot from the Vicohome app after the update. The camera recorded this thumbnail while recharging in my bedroom, robe on the door and all. But I canโt view the actual footage anymore unless I pay for a subscription. These cameras used to work without one. Now theyโre just sensors with a frozen image. This isnโt what I paid $180 for. I will be submitting formal complaints to the FCC, the Better Business Bureau, and my state attorney general regarding this issue. These agencies exist to protect consumers from deceptive practices, and I believe this situation deserves their attention. If anything changes, whether through Amazon, the manufacturer, or the agencies Iโve contacted , Iโll update this review. I encourage others affected to speak up too. Thereโs power in numbers.

Exceeds my expectations!
We bought my first one of these cameras last year to keep an eye on our backyard chickens. It worked so well we bought a second to watch for predators outside the coop. Both are exposed to the elements, and both have worked flawlessly. The picture quality is excellent, and the resolution adjusts automatically according to the available bandwidth of my extended wifi network. The daylight color picture is clear, and the night vision has surprisingly high contrast. Both cameras record images on SD cards, but we can monitor them on our IOS devices live whether we are at home or across the country. We can also watch and download the SD card recordings, which start automatically when motion is detected, and stop after 20 seconds. The instructions for installation and network connection were clear, and very easy to set up. The solar panel provides plenty of power. One time we decided to move one camera to a new location and disconnected the solar, and forgot to reconnect it for a week. But it still worked continuously just on battery power! The only time we lose service is when we choose to update the firmware, and that only takes a few moments every few months. These cameras have given us a trouble-free way to keep an eye on our girls, and we can easily check to see that they are safe at night. We highly recommend this camera, and will not hesitate to purchase more to put in other locations around the house.

Very useful and easy to maintain security camera
Got this security camera for the side of my house. Installation was simple. Downloaded the app and paired the unit to it. It walks you through it in a straightforward manner. Connect it to your 2.4 GHz signal and make sure there is no lag from where you want to place it before doing the final mounting. The brackets and screws that come with it work well in keeping the camera stable. I've recently had a lot of rain and wind it held up well. Definitely waterproof and weatherproof. Seriously, no need to run wires anywhere which makes it painless. The solar panel gives the unit a couple of percentage of charge a day. I forgot to charge it before mounting, but the camera was able to gain despite all the alerts and usage I get from the app. App is intuitive and lets you control the angle and direction. It has a zoom feature and you can change the sensitivity to detection. I leave it on high sensitivity because the side of my house doesn't get as much alert as the front. The two-way audio is quite useful, I can communicate with my neighbor just fine and clear. I use the microSD card slot to access data, not through the cloud and it's still pretty responsive. Quality is really good compared to the usual 720p you get at this price range. One thing to note: my unit came with the cable from the solar panel upside down. I had to pull the sealing rubber off and reverse it back on to make the tight seal needed. tldr Very inexpensive, easy install, no maintenance needed

Great Cameras for a Great Price!!
We purchased these cameras a couple months ago and I wanted to use them and see how they worked before writing a review. Well, these cameras are amazing! I didn't want to get my hopes up because they were so affordable but they have been stellar and just what we needed. They were easy to set up and install, and viewing them on our phones has been great. It would even be simple to add more cameras to our collection and that is very reassuring. We have 2 now but have already considered getting more. The color and picture are great and incredibly clear. I didn't expect the night vision to be as clear and precise as it is. We tested the sound talking through the speaker and it is very clear as well. The spot light is bright and they stay charged for a long time. We really enjoy all the settings that are available on the app as far as notifications, too (you can be notified for different things coming up on the motion detector like person, package, pet or vehicle). We do pay a little extra a month for the subscription to have extra storage and extra features but in my opinion, it's worth every penny!! I am very very impressed with this purchase and grateful for the security these cameras have given us. Thank you so much!!
