Will this be ok for a cat or will they just lick it all off ?

I believe it will work on a cat. It is like temporary hair die for people. It washes out after a while. Once it dries they probably won't lick it.

Will this dye stain the skin or scales? Looking to stain chick toes/legs as ID

I’m sure this will work on feathers but for nails/scales opaws’ dye markers may work better

Will it rub onto furniture?

No, it will not. Make sure to rinse until the water runs clear after dye application.

Should I put my cat in a cone of shame to keep him from licking the dye before rinsing?

If ur cat has light to white hair the color absorbs quickly unless my dog was trying to shake it off in the tub so its best not to leave on too long it may traumatize if ur cat does not like the collar anyway
