Mastercool 53312 UV Leak Detection Flashlight – 12V / 50W High-Intensity Light with 16 ft Cord and UV Safety Glasses – Used in Leak Detection Kits

The lamp is powered by the car's battery and is much brighter than those powered by flashlight batteries. Our shop uses both types and I prefer the Mastercool lamp. It is bright enough to find small leaks and conveniently comes with amber glasses to make the leaks more noticeable. You don't have to pick up a uv lamp only to find the flashlight batteries are weak and you can't find the leak. The cord is very long. You can have a car on a lift and still see underneath with the lamp. The only downside is the lamp gets hot with extended use and may require a cooling down period.

Works great, super bright

Not a true black light, this has a regular light bulb with which is not UV, has a UV filter which doesn't allow you to brightly see the dye where the leak is. I ended up buying an LED UV for 19.00 that outperforms this product. You would think that Mastercool would have a better product since they are in the A/C game but this is just a total waste of money.
