Worked, but proceed cautiously โ got okay results with fleas/ticks, but I have reservations.
If you have a moderate flea/tick issue and want a reasonably priced powder you can use on your pet and in their living areas, the Zodiac powder is okay. It worked for me to reduce fleas, but it did not fully resolve a heavy infestation, and I am somewhat concerned by some of the redโflags others have raised about OTC flea/tick products. I would buy it again only as part of a broader flea/tick control plan (including vet advice, environmental cleaning, and maybe supplemental treatments).

NOT recommend for cats, too risky. Fine on pugs.
I give this 3 stars only because it states it can be used on cats as well as dogs. Where the pugs are concerned, maybe 5 stars. Read on- About 12 hours after I dusted my long hair cat with this, I noticed he wasn't walking straight and almost bumped into furniture. Almost like an intoxicated, drunk human. And he seemed low key. So I filled my bathtub a few inches with warm water and risked the safety of my flesh, to deep clean his coat with shampoo. He was sweet and didn't shred me. So it's been about 36 hours since he was exposed, 24 hours since his bath. He has been lethargic, hasn't moved from my side of the bed all day (momma's boy), no appetite, some shallow fast breathing, but not panting or convulsing. He wants to be left alone, poor guy. I moved him to his food bowls tonight and he ate a couple kibbles, no wet food though. And won't drink water. He just wants to sleep in peace. Besides him, my 3 pugs were also dusted, without notable incident. I won't be using pyrethrin based flea prevention on my cat anymore, at least not OTC. I took a chance with this product, since it was labeled as cat safe. I won't say it was a known risk to me but now having scoured the Internet about cats and these active ingredients, and how to mitigate toxicity, it's just not worth the risk. This powder has a low percentage of pyrethrin which by all guidelines should be acceptable for cats, unlike products meant solely for dogs with much higher doses, which is toxic and fatal for cats as they cannot metabolize and excrete the toxins, but if you choose to, use this powder with great care if you plan to expose your cat. As for the flea problem, I'm hitting them from about every angle possible, we first saw fleas in January with this warm winter season in Northern California, and now we're in April and the battle continues. The pugs seem to be scratching less and I haven't found a live one with the flea comb on any pug in about 24 hours so we'll see. The cat is a Maine coon mix so his coat is almost impossible to comb for fleas. I've also tried advantix topical which left the fleas half dead at 5 days post treatment, hartz flea collars which claim 9 months effectiveness but really need replacement at 30 days, this flea powder and kennel dip diluted for spraying on the pugs only. I only started the last 2 products 2 days ago so I'm still reviewing the whole situation. The fleas will only get worse if we don't get the upper hand so I feel I'm walking a fine line here, to eradicate them yet not poison my pets. This is the first year we've ever dealt with this problem, and it's likely coming from the couple of homeless cats that my husband decided to feed through the winter and now they hang around our yard every morning and evening. Sigh......

Zodiac flea n tick powder
This is the 1ft thing I'd love to say who puts anything in a package of this sort with anything that goes in your body on your body by your mouth? The ppl need to learn how to ship that's very DANGEROUS. THE FLEA POWDER IS VERY NICE BECAUSE THE FLEAS NOW A DAYS I'M GUESSING AS ALL OTHER THINGS IN THIS WORLD ARE ZOOMBIE FLEAS THEY CAN'T BE KILLED. IDC WHAT I USE EVEN 1 DANG FLEA MAKES MY FUR BABIES ACT A FOOL. THEY REALLY DONE DEAL WITH THEM AT ALL. THANK GOODNESS I KNOW WHEN THERE'S A FLEA ON MY BABIES SO I GET THE FLEA NIT COMB I ALSO BOUGHT FROM AMAZON AND GO TO TOWN. SOMETIMES I WONT KILL IT SO FAST I'LL LET IT SIT IN THE POWDER IN AJAR WITH A TIGHT LID. YOUR GOING TO PAY OFF YOU TORTOURE MY BABIES SO I DON'T LIKE TO JUST LET THEM OFF SO EASILY. I LIKE THEM TO KNOW WHEN THEY COME HERE THEY WILL GET IT REAL GOOD THAT'S ALSO FOR A DIRTY MOUSE A DIGESTING ROACH FLY WHATEVER IT IS. BUT THIS DOES SO WELL ON THEIR BEDS THEY LADY ON THE BED AND OF COURSE THEY GET IT ALL OVER THEM WHICH I WANT. THEY ARE AT PEACE NO NASTY DIRTY BUGS. IT'S VERY GOOD IF YOU HAVE DOGS AND CATS YOU NEED THIS.

Doesn't work well
I don't recommend this product. The product instructions read that it's a pesticide, don't use near food and water, don't get it on your skin or clothing, etc. and after applying the flea powder on your pet rub it in well and give the flea powder a week to work. Well, it didn't work. After a week of applying the flea powder to my cats, they were still scratching. I literally doused them with the flea powder again. It didn't work well the second time around either. I might as well applied regular flour on the cats. This product is a disappointment.

One of the few flea powders that I could find
Takes about two weeks, but this does work, and you don't have to fight your pet to poke a pill down their throat, or have them refuse to eat their food if you try hide the pill in their meal. Both my kitties tolerate this product well, and I've used it on the welcome mat at our door as well. I will be keeping this product on hand in case my kitties get outside and wind up with fleas again. One escape to the outside when there are outdoor animals around and kitties can easily be infested with fleas quickly.
