ANYAIR AMIP Window Air Conditioner Foam Insulating Panels, Pack of 2

My days of central air have sadly passed now that I’m in an apartment in a city. And I’m at the age where nasty dusty tape around a window isn’t appealing, nor the yellowing plastic color of the AC arms. Not to mention tears off the paint but I didn’t care so much about that. My AC arms fit well in the sides of the window but there’s always some sort of small gap and also no insulation so I decided to give these a try. I am not using them as they recommend- with the plastic parts that stick to the frame. I just cut up the foam and placed it between the frame and the AC- sides and bottom/top. It’s a dense foam and dark and I do think between keeping it dark and working to insulate I’ve noticed my room holds a cooler temp better. Also maybe helps with noise and my boyfriend said he liked the looks of it better it looks more appealing. Not sure how long they will last. I think I paid between 15-20 and it is denser than the smaller/longer AC foam pieces I previously got at Home Depot. Plus the convenience to purchase or return if needed on Amazon. Since I didn’t stick it to anything it’s easy to swap out if I need to replace. Foam stays tucked in place.

I have a couple window units that I threw haphazard into place over the years without insulating. I finally got around to insulating them properly. What a difference. These side panels finished the job, and really were probably all I needed all along. "Installation" was simply cutting to size (with scissors) and smushing into place. Road noise from outside instantly disappeared. No more super-drafty AC units. What a difference. I went years without these. Dumb. PS I insulated two units with just one pack because I cut the panels in half in order to fit between the unit and the window on each side.

Insulated well and kept the cool air out around our air conditioner.

This item was much better than I expected. Very sturdy, easy to cut and install. Not only does it help fill the gaps but the black also gave my space a finished and refined look. It was a great buy

These are a real. great helper in blocking out the air . They are heavy and can be cut to fit

It is flimsy, but I was amble to make it work where I needed it to. With cutting, it is easy to install.
