Great for industrial controls.
I've been using these for a while... I've problems with major brands but these have worked non-fail even in FANUC controls.

Functions great for my old embroidery machine.
I have a very old Janome Embroidery machine that uses this type of card and adapter for file transfers. These worked great for me.

Good value and compatibly with older machines
Worked great for transferring files to my Powerbook 1400 from a Powerbook G4. Great price and value, seems like a decent built quality as well and should hold up well. Easy to use and had no issues with compatibility or needing any kind of driver to detect it. Included CF card also read fine on all my machines.

A good solution for backing up an old laptop with a PCMCIA slot.
I bought this to back up an old laptop with a PCMCIA slot. I could've just removed the hard drive and used a hard drive adapter to USB, but I wanted a way to also extend storage for the laptop, as the hard drive is failing. This product allowed me to back up the drive with ease and no doubt will serve me in the future. So far it has been reliable. It is compatible with Windows 98. Speed is what you would expect from a PCMCIA; the memory card is way faster than PCMCIA, so its speed has no bearing really. Size is compact (as a PCMCIA is).

Nice product with memory card.
I was surprised that this adapter came with a memory card. Unfortunately this didn't physically fit and I had to return it.

Worked out of the box in a Windows 98 SE Pentium III era laptop
Giving 5 stars as an early review. If that doesn't change, then it means the device didn't fail within 6 months. I plugged this into a Pentium III era Dell laptop that has Windows 98 SE installed. The card was recognized by Windows. The CF card was recognized as a generic flash card. Windows automatically mounted the card to E:\ which is crazy considering how old the OS is. Main use is moving 90s era shareware/games from a modern system to the retro laptop for content. No issues in that regard. IIRC, it was about $15 for the adapter + 4GB flash. Full disclosure: I have not tried to fully fill the 4GB flash so it is still possible it could be a falsely chipped CF card but only time will tell.
