I have used a heavier duty model for high caliber ammunition and was initially concerned that this might reveal some of the same shortcomings, but it worked flawlessly and does not incur the kind of damage to the dowel pins on misses that the heavier model does with .38, .357, .44, and 9mm rounds. Whether you are using a pistol or rifle, the convenience of the resetting paddle is worth the entire purchase price. The frame and anchor rods are robust enough and sufficient to keep it in place even on relatively soft ground during our trials. In areas such as an old quarry that are too rocky to drive in the stakes, you might want to mount it on a plywood base. if you aren't fond of replacing the target decals, you can do a quick touch-up on the paddles with a can of spray paint after each use in preparation for the next outing. Make your practice session more interesting by making a friendly game of mixing it up with the sequence in which to hit and reset the targets for both markmanship & memory. 1-2-3-4-reset;1-4-reset;2-3-reset;1-3-2-4-reset;individual reset one-by-one -- use your imagination. Fun for the whole family.

we set this at 30 yards as specified and fired our .22 pistols at it... a full box... 375 rounds.... it is small and not trivial to hit consistently... we did dent is some HOORAH! it works as designed. Ours had all the pieces and took less than 10 minutes to assemble.... I'll be frank, I"m gonna take this and use it as a model to make my own... I think I can weld up a big one and we can have a blast... we have a great place to shoot and I think everybody will enjoy and get a lot of use out of it... all in all.. a really really good deal..

This target is extremely fun, however, it's not to the quality I expected. The flip up targets do flip up when you hit them, however, they usually don't stay up and if one does stay up, as soon as you hit the next target it knocks the other one down. I never once had to hit the reset target because the most targets I ever had up were 2 of the 4. This is why only 4 of 5 stars. It's also less durable than expected. After about 75 hits I noticed the metal starting to bend or dent in some places. I attribute this to shooting a swinger as it was swinging back toward us which would increase the impact energy. Not a big deal because it's so cheap to replace and I don't see it getting to the point that I will have to replace it. Not bad enough to deduct another star but worth noting. Stickers are gone after first hit but that was expected. Take a can of spray paint with you and give it a fresh coat every once in a while if you care that much. I just care that I hit it and the swinging motion and noise let you know when you hit it so I don't really care that much. All in all I would definitely buy this again and I love it. P.S. I was using regular Federal bulk 22LR. Nothing fancy. And the target was leveled every time. Update 4/29/2013: Took it out a few days ago and shot it about another 50 times. I have roughly about 40-50 hits on each swinger and about 15 on the reset. Everything is still holding together, however, like I said, I haven't been able to get any of them to stay up, hence only a few shots to the reset. The metal has deformed a good amount, but still holding up. Still highly recommended.

My son got this target as a Christmas present this year. We went out on a day my husband had off from work, set it up quickly (taking note from some former reviewers - we tried to get it as level as possible) While it was slightly off level and the last target didn't always stay up, the target did it's job. It was obvious when you had hit it, even if it didn't stay up, that just meant an extra shot for the boys. It has heightened both of my sons' interest in something their father enjoys. Which makes it a win in my book. The target seems extremely sturdy to me... I don't understand how it could have fallen apart after one shot. I suppose it could be torn up if you shot the thinner pieces around the pivot points, but if you're hitting there, you should really work on your shooting. The decals did get destroyed and the paint comes off when hit by a bullet, but I don't understand what the other reviewer expected. For me, the target works exactly as it's supposed to, and we love it. We may even buy some of the other targets offered by this company so we can line them up and all shoot together.

It's a cool little target, I enjoy it, and other people at the range enjoy it too. However, it is cheaply made. I shot out one of the pins/rivets that holds one of the targets in place, I had to replace it with a bent nail. Secondly, you may hit a target, but sometimes (20% or so) it will go all the way up and come back down. Also, I don't like the color of the target, I wish it was more of a blaze orange because I'm colorblind and having a red target on a green background is tough for me. Nothing some spray paint can't fix though. I would consider buying another one considering they're cheap. But you get what you pay for.

The assembly directions are a little unclear. If the target is assembled correctly, the top reset target works great (otherwise it may not function as you would think it should). The adhesive paper bullseyes are not really that great - use any other commercial sticky target spot (or simply spray paint) for better results. The included stakes are handy and work well. A friend pulled out his 38 cal lever action rifle and went to town on it at 30 yards (the minimum required distance for use with a 22 LR round is 30 yards). When he was all done I asked him not to shoot it any more and we went down to inspect the damage - all it did was bend up the target paddles a little bit (and no loss of functionality).

These will not withstand 22LR impacts at any reasonable distance. I have dozens of steel targets (gongs and knock-downs) and saw this one and decided to give it a try. The first shot of Browning round nose polymer plated ammunition, from a 4" barrel 22LR handgun at just over 30ft, dented it. (so did the other common Wal-Mart 22LR ammo) If you don't understand why this is important, just Google it. It was mounted loosely in soft soil, and eventually came loose... so it wasn't mounted too rigidly if that was a question. Pitting is one thing, but denting is dangerous. I bought four different DoAll steel targets (different poppers and some of the knock-over bottles) and they all suffer from this. They must not be AR Plate, or maybe AR200. (the official web site doesn't state the material grade or type) The material thickness, with paint is about .200, so the material is about 3/16. I have learned my lesson, stick with the appropriate thickness and rating of AR plate, it will last almost indefinitely... many years and many thousands of impacts. The Do-All products I got did not offer this... the ones I received quickly became dangerous. (no response from their customer service at all, by the way, of course) It might be ok for 22 short, or subsonic ammo, but I have to give it one star, as this isn't indicated on the Do-All Outdoors website.

These targets are fun! Shooting any kind of reactive targets are always fun but this is target is awesome. Being able to reset the target by shooting the middle circle is the best, no more walking down range to reset the targets! Only one quick note. I decided to give the target a try with my .17 HMR and it just about put a hole through the target. I wish they would have built the target with stronger higher quality metal. But like the name say, "Do-All Outdoors .22 Auto Reset Target," the target is only made for .22 and cannot handle the .17.

Fun times to be had! Just dont use bigger then a 22 or youll just break it. Was awesome the first time you hit all 4 targets up, then reset it in 5 shots.

When I shoot the little spoons with my ruger 10/22 rifle, they don't always go up. And when they go up, they'll come down when I shot at the next one

Nice to shoot at. Target stays up on the first shot at it when you shoot second target first target at time first target fells back down. Enjoy to shoot at it better than cans lol.
