I was raised camping and raised my kids camping. I remember when I was taught to "potty" in the woods alone I was 4 or 5. We had an outhouse at the deer camp but it stunk so bad I didn't want in there! I remember transitioning to a bucket then a metal frame portable with a bag sitting in the middle of a tarp wrapped around 3 trees or poles. Had to dispose of your own bag! THIS stuff works....it's called poo gel but I call it poo powder and it comes pre-measured packs that are long and slim like a drink mix so be careful! You pour the pack in whatever you are about to potty in and then go potty. Before you get your pants up it's turning to gel! Eco friendly and slight lemon odor. If you use one of the port potty bags you can tie it up and dispose of it. You can pour it in a cup and urinate in cup and it turns to gel no worried about spilling it before disposing of it! I know this is a conversation most wouldn't have to strangers but for anyone that has ever found themselves in a place with no bathroom and no woods to hide alone in (hasn't everyone?) They will appreciate my willingness to embarass myself by talking about poo powder to a world of strangers! Everyone should have a pack with them in purse,car, backpack,atv...horse? At all time...Because when you gotta go you gotta go so be smart and get some poo powder and share it with friends and family!

We purchased this product for a cross-country round trip where we were camping along the way. The gel is very absorbent and does a great job in solidifying liquid waste. As for solid waste, it does an ok job and does help with odor. Help is the key word here. Do not expect it to eliminate odor but it will help reduce it. Having a container instead of little packets is a giant plus. You can control the amount of gel powder and there are no plastic wrappers to deal with. We used about half the container during our 11 day trip. However 2 of those days were spent at a B&B so we did not need the powder. So half a container for 2 people for 9 days. Pretty good value.

Works pretty well! Gelling can take a little longer than 1-2 mins and I think it takes a little more powder than one packet per .6 liter liquid, but overall good product! Really does help neutralize odors. I use this for a camping toilet and also often sprinkle it in my cats litter box. I use pine pellets for them and this helps a lot with deodorizing and absorption. I do wish they made a scentless option so I could use them in the backcountry for backpacking, but overall pleased with it.

I really enjoyed the convenience of the large container and a scoop rather than individual powder packets. This minimizes odor and turns your liquid waste to gel. This makes it an easier job to dispose of. I used this container all throughout a 2 week camping trip in a tent. I simply added a scoop of this powder to the portable commode basin with bag and liner.

When camping at a music festival or any large gathering we use a shower tent, folding toilet seat and biodegradable toilet bags to create our own, clean bathroom. This powder adds peace of mind knowing the odor will be controlled and spills are less likely (neither have ever been an issue but the additional protection is still welcome). It is easy to use and it works, just pour it in and do your business. Much lighter weight than carrying around kitty litter. Highly recommend.

So I got these because low price plus great reviews equals good buy...no. I'm shocked people say they hide the smell. They do not. I am not a fan of sleeping next to the smell of urine all night as they help 0% with the smell. 0. Two packets are required for a decent absorption which negates the price savings. But, overall they do turn piss into jelly so okay, they get some points.

We RV at a 4 season campground. This is like magic! We also use Lundberg toilet bowl liners for emergencies or just at night in those 20 below Temps to not walk to the office. Just a little scoop and everything is like a gel. We will order this again and again.
