ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock-US LDA-KP

Worked like a charm on a Lenovo L14 Gen 5 AMD/Ryzen laptop, which I had an absolute nightmare with when it came to getting two 5120x2160 displays and one 3840x1600 display running reliably. I was initially able to get all three displays to work by just connecting them straight to the laptop with USB4 cables, but there were frequent "handshake" issues where the system would not reliably recognize the proper native resolutions of the displays, often exacerbated by wake state or power issues, even though the monitors themselves were absolutely fine. Without the dock, I was actually able to get them working at their native resolutions even though only one of the ports on the Lenovo laptop is a 40Gbps port. So even though they'd work initially, the laptop would occasionally flake out and not send the right resolution to the second display, especially during system power up cycles or power interruptions. I even tried some other Thunderbolt docks... but it just wasn't reliable on the Lenovo L14 probably because of the USB4 limitation not getting along with a Thunderbolt dock. Thought I was cooked because the laptop just couldn't deal with high-res displays without a Thunderbolt output, but I knew the USB4/40Gbps port on the laptop had more than enough bandwidth to handle all three displays... not talking gaming displays with high refresh here, just productivity displays with 75hz refresh. But sure enough, this dock got everything working exactly as expected, using DisplayPort & HDMI cabling, on the very first try, with no errors or troubleshooting, and my jaw just about went through my desk. It was like a miracle after spending far more time than I care to admit being frustrated beyond belief by this problem and having no luck with other docks. So if you're in a situation where you're stuck with a somewhat older/under-spec Lenovo machine without Thunderbolt and can't get other Thunderbolt docks to work with high-res displays, this may be the answer. It was totally worth picking one of these up to get that headache out of my life.

The only way I knew it wasn't new was the cable wrap around the usb-c cable was missing. Otherwise everything was mint. Even the documentation was included Thank you! It works perfectly!

Despite what the dock is listed as it is actually a Lenovo ThinkPad Universal USB-C Dock model 40AY0090US. I bought this dock(actually 6 of them) during the Prime day sale for $116. I run a mostly Dell shop but decided to try and see if these would be compatible with Dell laptops as the Dell docks can be rather pricey. They have worked as expected allowing laptops to connect to multiple monitors, the network, and anything USB plugged into them without issue. The odd thing with this dock is that if I connect it to a Lenovo laptop I can use everything the same but it will often not connect to any monitors or charge the laptop battery. This isn't a huge issue for me as we only have a handful of Lenovo products (and rarely use them) but if you are looking to match your dock manufacturer with your laptop manufacturer it could be a problem. Half of my order showed delivered but never actually made it to me, Amazon customer service replaced them without any hassle. I didn't take this into account for my rating as it was a shipping issue not a product issue. Just felt that it should be mentioned incase anyone has doubts about how easy it would be to return or exchange if they had a problem with their dock.

Bought one and had it several weeks before used. When connected to my X1 Carbon there is no video. Quickly ordered another because of the immediate need, and that one does not work either on two different X1 carbons. Tried to return the first and was a couple of days past the return window. Been working with Lenovo for days on firmware and bios updates, but no luck. Will let you know how this turns out, but I do not believe in coincidences.

Product works as it should. The labels for each of the ports is tiny and faint, making it difficult to read, especially at the back of a desk surface when trying to plug in a cord.
