I found that for the price, this product delivers several pieces that are adequate for doing magnetism experiments. I particularly liked the compass as it lets you see where the field lines point visually. The cars can be used to demonstrate elastic and perfectly inelastic collisions to some degree. So if you wanted to use it for momentum and kinetic energy understanding, you could do that somewhat, but the wheels have perhaps too much friction. The magnets seemed adequate quality, though they're brittle materials with a necessary warning. My daughter enjoyed playing with the iron filings the most.

We LOVED this set. Beware it can be messy, I always just put the black powder stuff on a plate for the kids to play with and then wash with hot water and soap afterwards. The little magnet circles though are hard to clean. We got this a long time ago and still play with it from time to time.

Ordered 4 kits and they all arrived damaged. Many of the magnets were broken, and the clear casings with iron fillings were broken and had spilled all over everything in the kit.

Great science use for school

The kit overall is a good kit. A lot of the blue and red are scuffed off or missing on som of the magnets making it hard to tell the N/S poles of each. I would not give as a gift, but it is good for home use.

Broke easily

My grandson was at the house recently and found one of my magnets. He had a great time playing with it. Picking up pens and paperclips and just about anything he could find. So, I ordered this for him. He really loves it. I got a short video with him and it, and he loves it. He is a wonderful grandson and it pleases me to see him so happy. It is really a very inexpensive toy for a boy to have so much fun. It is really great when a toy can also provide great educational benefits this provides. I couldn't be happier for him.

Great child education tool. My 6 year old is now fascinated by magnet. Great price as well.
