This book has lots of pictures that follow along with the written text to give you an idea of what to do as you attempt to whittle projects side-by-side with the book. Written in a conversational style, most people should be able to follow along to learn the basics – then take those skills forward for your own creations. For the beginner, there is a good overview of choosing a knife, sharpening, how to cut wood, etc. You truly can do this with one of the Swiss Army tinker knife. You may also want to do a search on the author’s name, as he has several instructional “how to” videos that are very similar to the chapters in the book – it can help bridge some of the question of “how did he do that” as you are doing your own project.

I got this for someone as a gift, along with a swiss army knife. It was more sentimental than practical but it is a really nice sweet, little book and I think I wouldn't mind getting one myself one day. He loved it.

I bought three of these books for my grandson and 2 great nephews for Christmas. They are loving it. I also purchased a Swiss Army knife with them. They are having a blast making and creating. I love that it takes them outdoors and off of their screens. They are all 10 years old and I feel they are at the perfect age and responsible enough with the knife. I wish I had captured the looks on their faces when they opened their gifts!!

Great, compact book about whittling.

Our granddaughter absolutely loves this book. She's making several of the items that are shown and getting ideas for variations that she would also like to make. She loves her Swiss army knife. Any gift that still thrills a grandchild 3 months after they receive it is a win in my book.

Would you expect a 30 year old female who just finished nursing school and is looking for something to occupy her newfound free time, to want to try whittling? No? Me neither! But I saw the book and was intrigued. It lays out all the basics for getting started and the projects were perfect for beginners. The illustrations were extremely helpful. A couple birds/roosters later and I was hooked.

Si habitualmente cargas una navaja Victorinox de tamaño mediano este manual te enseñará a usarla para crear muchos objetos útiles y decorativos, así como a hacerle las modificaciones sugeridas a la cuchilla para que sea más fácil trabajarla! Las modificaciones son relativamente sencillas e incluso no son absolutamente necesarias! Mi primer intento es el abrecartas. Hasta ahora hecho además un cuchillo para mantequilla, una cuchara para mermelada y una cucharilla para sal. Altamente recomendado
