Elite Wood Fire Pellet Smoker Grill with Wi-Fi (VG0002S), Freestanding, 304 Stainless Steel Alloy

When the grill works, it's wonderful. But I haven't gotten the damn thing to work right since the 3rd grilling session. Then would repeatedly get error 5 message when turning grill on that took me awhile to figure out how to bypass. Then started getting error 1 messages and cant get the damn thing to work at all. Have had it for 3 years. I have called their customer service several times and made multiple service requests on their website. They have not responded to them. This product has a lot of potential if you could get the electronics to work. I wish I had seen an honest review of the product before I bought it. Would not recommend due to the significant frustration and terrible customer service. Look elsewhere.

Wow, this is hands down the nicest smoker/grill I have used. You cannot compare this to a propane grill. They are simply not in the same league. The most notable feature is the PID temperature control. It functions very much like a convection oven. Fill the hopper with pellets, set your desired temperature, and the grill maintains automatically. I really like controlling the grill from my Android phone. The interface for three temperature probes for the meat is very handy (one probe is included). I purchased two additional and am glad I did. You can have different meats going and monitor their internal temps from your phone or from the grills display. The grill is pricey for sure but... it is double wall stainless construction, made in the USA, and the quality of the build is notable.

The grill is well built, holds temp and very functional probe that shuts off the grill when it hits temp. Should have had probe cable port on both sides. The configuration on our patio unfortunately requires the probe cable to exit on the “other” side. Have to just shut the door on it. The electronics and app were initially very fun. Could monitor and control from my phone. Then after a year had to get a new circuit board. OK it happens. They helped me thankfully, it was quite the ordeal. A year after that the app stopped working. Was told I needed to update software. The email they sent me was daunting. I should not have to use a screwdriver and thumbdrive to update software. Too much. Too complicated. Don’t get to use the app anymore. Still grills great and the main menu screen works but the bells and whistles don’t. After two years not sure it was worth the investment.

I was split between 3 & 4 stars. The actual stainless construction is pretty good. I wish it was welded in more spots instead of screws or rivets. Non the less it is sturdily built with quality stainless. I’ve had mine almost 2 years now and no real problems other than the WiFi.The WiFi temperature system could have been better. It feels rudimentary. There are 3 probes which is nice but you have to buy the extra probes. The slot the wires go through could be a hair bigger.The door has a nice seal to keep in heat. I’m not sure if it circulates smoke as well as the Traeger style ones. There are 3 nice pull out trays for ash and juice drippings. They came with foil pans that look like you could get at a grocery store.All in all I do like this unit but it was expensive and I probably wouldn’t buy it again because I just don’t think the value is there. I paid far less than this add elsewhere too.

This is my second pellet grill. It’s extremely well built. It arrived on a crate and assembly took about 1.5 hours. I’ve been pleased with the performance thus far. It heats up fairly quickly and holds the temperature at a consistent range. I have not used the WiFi control just yet. The included temperature probe works as advertised. Cleaning of the firebox is extremely easy and grease drainage/disposal could not be easier, as it drains in standard sized foil tins that are easily disposable and replaced. There are two coverings that can be placed over the firebox, one of which results in the exposure of direct flames. This can be used for a more traditional barbecue experience. Grill surface area is generous. The pellet hopper has a large capacity. The storage cabinets under the grill are useful for supplies and storage. It is expensive but thus far I am extremely happy with my purchase.

This is our second Memphis grill for a third house. The other is now about 7 years old and still going strong and gets used just about every day we are at that house. We do everything from baking cookies to searing steaks with this grill. Memphis is a quality company that has stood behind their products so I had no second thoughts about which grill to get! This arrived with a minor dent in the lid, purely a cosmetic issue. Memphis promptly sent us a new lid. This is a great company to deal with! By the way we had several traegers, but they couldn't hold temp with the wind on the Texas coast and you can't get the high temps for searing that the Memphis gets - a much more versatile cooking product.

Well built, great temperature control!

Shipping was the only questionable thing, box was torn up, some items inside were loose and sliding around. Fortunately the damage was isolated to the inside of the hood. Assembly is pretty easy, hardest part is taking off all the protective shielding for the laser cuter, and cleaning off the marks it leaves. Once everything was done, the grill is awesome, cooks very well. The grill is Made in the USA, and it shows, high quality in every aspect. Memphis Grills advertising is accurate, it does perform up to their expectations.
