Rugged Comfort Quick Latch Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator

Doing some DIY painting jobs at home and used to use disposable KN95 masks. They’re pretty good and cost-effective for filtering wood dust and particles, but I could still clearly smell the spray paint through them. After doing a bit of research, I bought this 3M 6500 series size L mask with the 2097 filters, and the improvement is night and day. I sprayed paint for 20 minutes and couldn’t smell any paint odor at all. I usually need L/XL for hats, so I ordered the L size for this mask. I'm glad I did this. The distance from the bridge of my nose (between the eyes) to my chin is about 5 inches. The facial fit is excellent, and the strap adjustments are very easy—once adjusted, the comfort is also great. Breathing feels much smoother than with the disposable KN95s I used before, and my glasses don’t fog up. The Quick Latch feature is very practical. The overall design of this mask is simple, reliable, and easy to use. The materials don’t feel particularly premium, but they feel solid and durable. The weight is quite light for me—the mask plus two 2097 filters weighs about 5 oz. I regret not buying this kind of professional respirator earlier. No matter which brand you choose, this is definitely one of the most worthwhile investments you can make for your own health.

Good, quick respirator! Nothing is coming in that you don't want. Easy to attach/detach head straps and equip different filters. Filters work so well you can see inhales and exhales. Facepiece is comfortable to wear but can build a little condensation over a long period. All that being said, it'd be great if I can remember to use the respirator when i'm "in the zone" and sanding though. At least I have it, one step at a time I guess.

(LARGE) COMFORTABLE DESIGN. SOFT SILICONE: THIS MASK IS Good, however, many other reviews and the 3M description cover most of that.. COMFORTABLE FIT AND QUICK RELEASE. Soft silicone face mask easily conforms to many shapes of face.. This (LARGE) one is large enough to fit comfortably on my big mug. I like masks to ride on top of the bridge of my nose. Remember, it doesn't matter as much how good the customer service is, nor how the shipping and packaging are.. WHAT MATTERS IS.. HOW DOES IT FIT!! Fit and size is all that matters here.. Measure your face and look at these photo measurements, and compare.. MEASUREMENT INSIDE THE (LARGE) MASK: (see pictures) Height: 4 1/2" (inches) Width: 3 1/2" (inches) Great Mask.. at a Great Price on Amazon.. (however after all this comparison, i decided to go with the 3M7503/37083 (AAD) rather than this one (3M 6503QL) because it fit a little better and has less detail on the front of it to catch and trap sawdust.) HOW DOES IT FIT.. Check your measurements. I tried several masks and sent back the ones that didn't fit right. (The ones third party "not" Amazon, i had to pay return shipping) So buyer beware, try to get the right fit the first time. ALSO.. buy a size up from the one you think. I tried to show photos with measurements to help. This is the mask i feel the most comfortable in. It's a large, which fits up over the bridge of my nose nice and comfortably. CONCLUSION: Even though the fit and silicone is great, and even though the straps pull the mask evenly up to the face, the straps on the front collect dust in the crannies, so I'd recommend the 3M Large Half Facepiece Reusable Respirator 7503/37083(AAD),

I love the latch feature on this. I had different brand, no latch, and had a terrible time any time I needed to talk to someone. I'm not working around anything toxic, just LOTS of dust from house cleans outs etc. and I have allergies. So they let me wear this. Honestly, I'm going to wear it for painting and wood shop projects too. I'm a lady, 5' 10" with kind of a long face, high nose bridge. I initially got a M but exchanged it for a L and am so glad I did. My previous mask was a M, and I think a L would have been better. Ladies, don't just get something small because you're a lady. Bottom of my chin to above the bridge of my nose is about 5.25" if that helps anyone. My mask wasn't comfortable until I got the top of mask about the bridge of my nose. I also have high cheekbones. I found the elastic rubbed a bit across my cheekbones. Never quite figured out how to get around that. The face oils and dust get stuck to the elastic and then rub against my face, so I'm getting a little acne I didn't have. I wipe the mask out at least once a day with wet wipes to help keep my face from breaking out too much, but there's only so much I can do about that too. I'm wearing this nearly 8 hours a day. There is some texture to the material against your face and I've found I like that better than the smooth material. It sticks less. I'm using the 3M 6001 Organic Vapor Cartridge and bought extra 3M 5P71PB1 6000 Series Particulate Filter P95 with this. I haven't replaced the filters to see how well it works, but it looks like everything should fit right. I find it easy enough to breath most days. But if I have a cold or it's getting at all hot, it can get hot and sticky and tougher to breath. Changing filters is supposed to help, but I know sometimes it's just me. I haven't found a mask where that isn't the case. I have found when I'm working in the cold, the respirator helps keep me a little warmer and the air a little wetter. Grosser fact, sometimes condensation drips out the front of the mask. Again, not sure that can be avoided. The last mask did the same. I really like the crown of the head strap. It's fairly comfortable. This one doesn't get caught on my hair the way the last one did. Also having the drop down latch means I can work my hair around this and not have to take it out if I need to take the mask half off. I do have to keep the opening in mind when pulling my hair up. Usually I can make a bun high enough that sits in that opening. Up top or middle of the back of the head doesn't work so well. I would consider getting a bag or case for this if I didn't have a locker to keep this, my extra filters, and my wipes. Hope this helps!

Handy. When using a mask for an extended time, but with periods when you don't need it, It can be released away from your mouth for comfort/talking without removing the whole mask.

Love the quick latch function. The lower fastener is similar to other masks but I haven’t had it fail so far.

La uso para manejar resina epoxi y para carpintería (diferentes filtros), bastante cómoda, la uso con unos lentes también de 3m y no me molesta para nada trabajar con el epp equipado

Puede usar diversos filtros de acuerdo al uso que se le dé (vapores orgánicos, polvo y partículas, etc). Lo mejor de esta máscara es la facilidad con que se instala y libera, lo que se puede hacer con una sola mano.

Bastante comoda.
