Hard to beat... Handles like a baitcaster, no lag, momentum in the handle.
2nd reel! And I'll be buying a third. This handles like a baitcaster in the handle. It does not have lag or momentum in the handle like other spinning reels. It stop exactly where you want, everytime like a baitcaster. It makes using a spinning reel for many bass lures completely doable. I'm really not sure why some people hate on kastking so much....but this is a very very nice real for the price range. With anti reverse" which is useless" cough, braid ready, smooth reeling L&R hand,bfs capable because its ultra light weight... It's a tremendous reel. I have the 500 on a spin BFS trout rod setup and another 2000 on a bass setup. Love these reels

Amazing Reel
I have gotten many reels and rods from Kastking, and I have to say. They are an amazing brand and I have never once complained about anything that I have bought from them. If you are considering buying anything from Kastking, I would just say get it and do not look back.

Great ultralight combo
I purchased this as a combo with the 6’ ultralight rod. The reel is very smooth and lightweight. Filled it with 2lb line and did some practice casts in the backyard. The rod loads up nicely and I was casting a 1/64 oz weight 30 to 35 yards with ease. The sound of the drag clicker is very satisfying. I’m looking forward to putting this rad and reel to use over the long weekend coming up. This is a great ultralight combo that won’t break the bank.

Not bad!
It's very smooth casting and reeling. It's a bit louder than I hoped. It's not loud, but there's a little bit of noise when reeling in. Maybe it's not broken in yet.

Great reel but obviously a defect in this one.
I purchased this reel in May of 2022 and loved it. We have long winters so it’s cleaned and stored indoors. Today I loaded up and went the river and the reel wouldn’t crank. Since the warranty expired I tried to fix it my self and found the gear was broken in half. I’ve only caught small trout so I’m stumped on how this happened? I also have the larger reel and love it with no issues.
