I have a very thick curly beard that cannot be combed/brushed when dry, will this work for me?

First it’s best to use some sort of beard oil or beard butter. Use enough to get it throughout your beard. Next comb it all directions. Using this beard straightener will help make it straight. Comb/brush it throughout the day. At night put some more oil/butter on. All of this will help keep a thick and curly beard more manageable when using the beard straightener.

How long do I have to wait before it is heated enough for use?

Yes, if you want a nice flat, shaped beard. I found if it was on highest setting it wasn't hot enough to maintain my beard and keep it straight. Ended up using a set of hair straighteners for immaculate result or cheap £9.99 heated brush from asda which worked perfectly.

Yes and it's recommended if you use the straightener all the time, so the heat doesn't damage your hair.

Does it work? Is it complicated to use?

Yes to the first part: it works pretty well… – just move it slowly, and repeat a couple of times. And no: it’s easy… – switch it on, and move through the various heat settings; and see which works best. (My beard is wiry and rough: so I use the highest one.) Oh, and best to use after you’ve washed and dried your beard; and perhaps once you’ve rubbed a drop or two of oil through it. Patience is your friend!
