Is there plastic? lid? inside? outside?

Yes. The lid...so if you are concerned with the condensate dripping back into the water...I think you will be limited to an all stainless steel kettle for stovetop use. I have not found an electric one that has absolutely no potential point of contact with the water. That said I love this kettle and have two.

To the manufacturer?seller; Does water come in contact with metal or plastic?

The bottom is glass sitting on stainless steel base, water does not touch the stainless steel. It is outside of the glass. The lid is plastic with a plastic mesh filter.

I love this kettle but after the water comes to a boil everything tastes like plastic. I tried boiling vinegar and baking soda but nothing helps. help

My boiled water tastes great. I did boil vinegar and water in the beginning. Just habit.
