The LED light that is a part of it is incredibly helpful. The magnifier is a rectangle and can cover more space at once. It’s lightweight and helps me when I want to “zoom” something from a magazine!

Over time I have ordered more of these wonderful lighted magnifiers. The magnifier is high quality and crystal clear. The magnifier collapses from the handle. The handle performs perfectly and is always secure. The battery life is very good. There are two adjustments for lighting, one click, then another increases the light. The "on" button for the light is conveniently located where the magnifier meets the handle when extended open, very easy to access without looking. I like one magnifier at my desk, one at my nightstand, and I have given two to my daughter. She keeps one at her friend's house. Tiny print is no problem anymore. It's very important to insert the batteries according to the instructions. To help me do so correctly I have drawn a picture and pasted it onto the handle to remind me. That's how long the batteries last! I put clear tape over the battery compartment to keep the battery cover on securely. I always check that my new batteries are at full power with a battery reader for optimal performance. I highly recommend this magnifier, you will not be disappointed!

Actually I do not care for this magnifier! Awkward to handle. I just sits in a drawer as a last resort.

This magnifying glass is exactly what I need for my 72 year old eyes. It's rectangle shape is large enough that I can see almost an entire page, but it's not so large or wieldy that it's difficult to hold. The LED lights are an extra that I didn't know I needed until I used it for the first time. There are two settings for the lights, so you can control how bright it is. I noticed that a few reviewers have said that the battery compartment only has "fittings" for one battery, and the other side is empty. The "empty" side of the battery compartment fits two batteries, and the "fittings" are, indeed, there, so all three batteries needed do fit inside the handle. I like that there isn't any distortion in the glass like you sometimes get with round magnifying glasses. All in all, this is a good buy, and I even came back and got a second one.

Mine lives in my kitchen and gets used with mist meals checking the nutrition labels as well as any cooking instructions. I love mine so much l bought a second one as a gift!
