Aquascape 91142 Pond Powerhead Circulation Pump, Directional Water Flow Control, Black

I have it in the pond for a couple of months and it is keeping the bottom of my pond debris free. It keeps the debris suspended in the water column so that the filter can do its job. Once a week I change the angle of the flow due to the size of the pond (2,100 gallons). It helps with where there is a normal build up debris. I contemplated adding a couple more units but decided to save the money and electricity and just move it around. Very glad I took a chance on this.

This pond fan is great and I love that it creates a current in my pond pushing debris to the skimmer. It works great and is easy to use and install. The only downside is the need to regularly remove it from the pond to clean the outer housing. If I could suggest an improvement for this product It would be a reverse fan switch. Leaves and debris do get stuck to the fan enclosure and it eventually affects the fans ability to move water. Currently the only solution is to remove the fan and clean the housing. If this fan had a reverse switch you could use that to blow the debris off of the housing reducing the frequency in having to remove the fan and clean it by hand.

This circulation pump has been a game-changer for my koi pond. The water flow is strong and consistent, which helps keep the pond cleaner and healthier for the fish. Setup was simple, and once it’s running, it’s very quiet—you barely notice it’s there, but the difference in water clarity is obvious. One tip: Make sure to clean debris off from around the jet every so often. It only takes a minute, but it helps the water move through effectively and keeps the pump working at its best. I’ve been really impressed with the quality and reliability of this pump. If you want better circulation and a healthier pond, this is a 5-star investment.

I have a 1000 gallon pond and I found that this powerhead was just too powerful for my pond. I wish that Aquascape made a smaller and less powerful size or integrate this pump with a controller that allows you to adjust the power, like they do with their Aquasurge pumps. It's disappointing because this is really the only option when it comes to pond powerheads. The rest of the powerheads/wavemakers are designed for indoor aquarium use. But unfortunately, this powerhead seems to be designed for larger ponds. There is a market of pond owners with smaller ponds who don't really have any options for powerheads but they would still like some increased water movement in their ponds. I hope Aquascape takes this feedback into consideration and makes a smaller and less powerful version.
