Easy to set up and works well with my bluetooth hearing aids
I bought these to use with my bluetooth hearing aids on an upcoming trip. Hearing aids make using ear bud receivers difficult like the kind on airplanes and guided tours. I set my up to listen to something on my laptop as a test case, which was easy. I have read where people could not get this to work with their hearing aid, so here is a little more information as it did take me some fiddling to figure things out with other things like QuietVOX and the airline entertainment. It seemed I had to download the app for my hearing aids (which I normally do not use) and let it know to accept another device to be connected - I indicated it as a headphone. Then under Bluetooth connections on my phone, I had to find what this device was called. The photo shows how it came up on my phone. Once I had my hearing aids and this device connected, it worked fabulously! I could comfortably hear tour guides and the flight entertainment system. I'm guessing this might work with a TV as well. Very happy to find this tool and highly recommend.

Let you use cordless headphone or ear buds with sources that don't have Bluetooth built in
I bought this to use with my JVC 660 Bluetooth headphones and various devices... my big screen TV and AV setup, or when flying. My 660 came with an audio plug, and that will work on an airplane, it won't work for the big screen TV... I want to be more than 3' away from the 85' screen! You have to charge this adapter first, which can be done with any USB C charger. Once that's done, it's fairly easy to set up and connect to. The audio is good, with no perceptible lag. Now I can sit on my couch and watch TV without bothering the house with the Dolby 5.1 sound system. Haven't tried it on an airplane yet, but there's no reason it wouldn't work. It's inexpensive, does exactly what it says, lets you use wireless headphones or ear buds when you otherwise couldn't. If only it was able to broadcast to multiple headsets (don't think there's an appropriate Bluetooth protocol for that) it would be perfect. Very satisfied.

Worked fine with my Kirkland (Costco) hearing aids
Bought this item for travel to transmit from our tour leader’s non-bluetooth speaking device (“whisper”) to my Kirkland Signature 10 (KS 10) hearing aids from Costco, so I could avoid dealing with the tangle of earphone wires as we walk around. This item definitely works with the KS 10 hearing aids. Pros: came fully charged; description is accurate (fits easily into shirt pocket or hangs from belt loop); works well at 50’ distance from tour leader; also works great with my ancient non-bluetooth stereo amplifier. Cons: instructions are printed in very tiny font, so a magnifier was helpful; instructions are a bit difficult to follow and could use more complete explanations of RX vs. TX setup - but I got there with a little experimenting. I rewrote the instructions in a simpler, more descriptive format that I and my wife use for joining components now. Five stars for performance minus one star for unclear setup instructions. It is a cool gadget that does what it’s supposed to.

constant cutting/dropping out. can I return this?
Sound constantly cuts out. It's even worse if I'm moving. It's not my headphones. I use them for hours every day and I've never had this issue with bluetooth connectivity before. It's not distance. I can be sitting still right next to the transmitter and it's fritzing on me. It's not other devices interfering. I want to return it for a refund but Amazon returns policy says must be "unopened, unused". Well, of course I want to return it and get a refund because I've used it. And it sucks. Don't recommend. I'll add, pairing was not easy. Yes, my headphones have the compatible CODEC type. It took many attempts when usually my headphones pair quickly to anything new once stuff is in pairing mode. Not so this thing. The connector wire is much longer than shown in the photo. Fine if you keep it folded up in the twistie. It's worth one star because the sound quality when it's NOT dropping out is good. Range seems decent too. Anyway, that was a waste of money. Wish I'd sprung for the more expensive bt transmitter with all the top reviews. I don't have money to just buy another, better one. So yeah, it's a real bummer. I want my money back. You can have the transmitter.

Have only used it for a week (daily) but already VERY impressive
Update 2: I cant even remember when I bought the first one (foreshadowing) but that is still going strong even in the hot Florida heat (i pair it with an older mp3 player) in the summer here. I am HAPPY I bought a second one when it went on sale to have as an eventual (and yes i tested that and it works just as good) backup in case these sell out and I cant find a good quality one and a great price again. Needless to say, I totally recommend these Update 1: well ... I do admit that i lost track of days but i am estimating i used it 10 to 11 days ... and while i dont time my walks, i rounded my say "1hr 15 to 1hr 30 to 45min walks" at 1hr 20min (rounding DOWN ...which means it may be a bit more than this) ... doing the math .. say 10 days (at least) at 1hr 20min per day (again at LEAST... LIKELY more) ... I am very impressed. So far none of the earbuds I try with this transmitter cut out .. ever .. which includes a pair of Soundcore Liberty 2s that I have 2 pair of but with my android box and laptop THEY cut out or do funny stuff ... they are perfect with this little transmitter. Same with my Lavabean and TOZO buds. I still have to remember to hit Vol+ twice for my use case to get a good volume, everytime i start it but ... that is barely a "con" ... something to be noted TO BE FAIR to this product. This was only say $12 or so more than the two different $9 BT transmitters I have and it sounds and functions SO much better. ... those AT MOST lasted 2-4 hours maybe not even that and the earbuds i try dont sound as good or sometimes cut out (say looking at traffic, while crossing a road) ... THIS transmitter has never done that and I have already used this one more than the other two i just mentioned --------------- I am already very impressed by this transmitter despite one "issue" that to be totally fair is so low to me on what it is, I cant really call it "an issue" but I will note it. My main use case after having 2 totally square say "$10 Bluetooth Transmitters" (bought for another reason but i figured I'd give them a try since i had both sitting around) that both are BT 5.0 and maybe if I was lucky were 3-4 hours on battery life. I used one to notice the sound was all highs no matter what headphones or earbuds I used... the other one was a bit better but the sound quality was still off and sometimes if i moved my head too fast, it would NOT disconnected; however, the sound would totally cut out. My main use-case is to have the ability to use any BT headphone or set of earbuds I have with old Sansa Mp3 players I really like, that does NOT have bluetooth. I go for regular say ... 2-3 mile walks in south Florida (noting this due to the high humidity and "electronic devices") and in 4 days so far, I am VERY impressed with this transmitter. It IS plastic on the outside of course, but to me it feels well built. I admit I wasn't using the best 3.5 to 3.5mm adapter with those other transmitters, but even the one included with this device feels so much better... it DOESN'T fall out of the connector like the other cheap one did. As far as the connection goes (again with cutting out say looking back and forth for traffic or whatnot coming) I have tried 4 pairs of earbuds and THE SOUND HAS NOT CUT OUT .. NOT ONCE. I have tried my TOZO T6's and TOZO T9's ...One of my Lavabean LB/EB (I forgot) 10's, and my Soundcore Liberty Air 2's which cut out often on my Android TV box when no other BT device does that on that box.... in 2 days ... say 3 hours of use .. THOSE Soundcores, NOT any of the other randomly picked models I have listed have even cut out for a second. I don't want to "ham this up" but unlike either of the other portable BT transmitters, the sound on ALL of these buds sounds GOOD and balanced, the way the earbuds should sound. Even the better of the two cheaper options I have ... sounds slightly off. With this transmitter you get the "punch" of the base and clarity of the mids and highs ..... much better then the old wired (cheaper model i admit) Sony headphones I had been using before with the same Mp3 player, for years now . Battery life I can not comment on long term yet ... I have not gone out today but it's been 3 days of ROUGHLY (I don't time myself) 1hr 15 to 30min and another day of about 45 minutes and i have NOT recharged it once ... well once right when I got this so it was fully charged. The other two boxes I would almost charge daily, as sometimes on the second day they would cut out 1/4 to 1/2 way into my walk. Improvements: I word this like I do because I can't call these "cons" really but I do feel this could have been better. What I mentioned before is that so far I have noticed that no matter the earbud, the transmitter starts off at a certain Volume level and it seems low (even when I turn the Sansa player's volume up) ... I just take the transmitter and "Volume Up" a press or two and it's all ok and loud enough ... it DOES go higher (vol on transmitter) but that is too loud for my ears. ... I mention this part to say I dont even have to turn the Vol up "all the way" to be good on Volume. This next part I admit MAYBE in the manual, which I haven't read yet so I may be making a fool of myself here. I wish there was a button like on earbuds that would say make the light flash in a certain way or certain number of times or something (even a different light then the main one) to show how much battery is left. .... say one light and section things in quarters... 1 blink = 0% to 25%, 2 blinks = 26% to 50% and so on. I think this little addition, assuming it's not there in some form already, would be helpful, but NOT needed to have this device be a great product already. I didn't want to get a similar device that looks the same from other brands but I see is say over $50 or something, although, I wanted to "step up" from those cheap (price and quality) "you get what you pay for" units I had. This seems like a great middle ground and while I don't need it ... .I am CONSIDERING picking up another one, so that tells you, that yes ... I totally recommend this, so far.

Compact, Easy to Use
I'm using this mostly as a transmitter and it works great. Very easy to pair with Bluetooth headphones to receive audio from the TV, stereo or radio. Just plug it in to the headphone port on the TV or stereo and turn it on while your headphones are in pairing mode. After the first time it will pair automatically. My latest headphones support aptx low latency and this transmitter automatically detects it and enables aptx low latency mode. Perfect for watching television, movies or gaming. The LED light around the power button will change to a white color when low latency is enabled. Or you can manually change to other modes if needed by double pressing the power button. There is a little latency when watching television with Apple AirPods because AirPods do not support the aptx LL codec. Make sure your headphones support aptx LL if that's the feature you need. This unit is simple to use, compact, light weight, sounds good and has good range along with good battery life. Exactly what I needed.

Best for travel
I got this for travel and to use on my tv. Works amazing for travel easy to use and worked well. Using it with the tv went well and sounded very good until I plugged the charger in with it. For some reason when it's connected to the charger whilst using Bluetooth it buzzes in the background. Very annoying I don't use it bec of that

VERY Impressed with this product!
I use these devices for running the sound system in a high school gym, the receiver is at the other side of the court from where I sit with the laptops. I have two of these, one in TX mode and one in RX mode, once both of them are turned on, they find each other in just a few seconds, with no hassle. And unlike my previous experience with bluetooth, no distance problems, I estimate that I'm 75-100 feet distance and it works perfectly with no drops. Don't know the actual max distance, but one thing to note, I am on the opposite side of the bleachers which are supported by a metal framework, I was concerned that having that in the line of sight would cause problems, but it's been flawless. Highly recommend. Don't know the range from one of these devices to another bluetooth device that's not another one of these. I bought the second one to be the TX side rather than using the laptop's built-in bluetooth because I have more than one laptop running through a switchbox using their headset jacks so it was simplest to just have a second one of these, and since this device claims 100ft range, I figured I'd have my best luck using one of these on each end. Definitely recommend. I'm going to get another one to connect my projector in my TV room to my soundbar too.
