Red is relaxing for late at night, blue wakes you up on early mornings. The ability to set colour and brightness lets you tailor the lighting to fit your mood. At full power it's bright enough to light the room. On low power it's a great backlight. I didn't realise when I bought it, but you charge the lamp and use it on battery. This means it is portable and no cable is visible. The charging socket is on the bottom, under a rubber cover, which is a bit awkward. It charges quickly though. The remote is easy to use. There is a colour cycle mode, but even on the slowest setting it changes too quickly.
