Fannie May Mint Meltaways

I but these twice a year for my mother and she raves about them. They melt in your mouth and have a nice smooth texture, kind of velvety, with a strong, but not overpowering minty taste...with a tough of chocolate too

If you're in doubt of how good these are, my mother said that if she had to choose a last meal on death row, her first immediate thought would be to request a box of these and devour them all in one sitting. They melt in your mouth, they are perfectly bite sized, and the combined chocolate and minty taste is so delicious! There's definitely enough to share, but they're so good that you won't want to. The price does seem to be a bit much, but for how much you get, the quality, and the prices of everything nowadays, it doesn't really seem to be that bad. Definitely recommend these, and they'd make a great gift to any and all chocolate and mint lovers everywhere!

It's been a Christmas tradition to gift these style chocolate-mint melt aways. We've purchased from a large mall department store for years. Well, I haven't been to a mall in years, and playing the on-sale/ free shipping/ in-stock game got kind of tiring. I thought I'd give these a try. Glad I did. They are wonderful. Smooth and creamy, with the right amount of mintiness. Not too much. Very comparable to our loved brand.

We received these as a gift and I'm not one who likes mint but wow, did these change my mind. They are wonderful, smooth, creamy and chocolaty. We have since given them as gifts because they' ve given us such joy! Highly recommend.

Please don't send this candy to anyone when it is HOT ! This time I sent it to myself when it was hot and the package seemed like it had been flipped around inside and the candy was everywhere and the candy squares had melted and blended together and it was almost soupy. I refrigerated it and I had to cut it into pieces but it still tasted okay. Just so you know it came at 8 p.m. and I was there when the UPS driver got there but it was in a very hot truck all day. Terrible as a "gift" (cause messy) in the summer! Otherwise, delicious !

I ordered this because I was looking for the Fannie Farmer mint chocolate bars I remembered from childhood. Apparently Fanny Farmer is no longer a company but the company that makes these bought them out. So I had high hopes. The chocolates arrived in the condition you see in the photos. There has obviously been some damage in transit or in storage before they were shipped. It being cold this month, it is hard to imagine the damage happened during transit unless they were placed very bear and for prolonged time near a heat source. They also look like they are falling apart. I don’t think the damage is recent. The packaging was untouched and intact, so it is hard to determine just what happened except that there was no animal damage. I had a raging head cold when they arrived so until it lessened it was hard to tell if they were fresh. However, since then, they seem a bit stale. The taste is similar to my beloved Fannie Farmer original, but given the size of the individual candies the proportion of green coating is greater in relation to the chocolate interior than it was for the bars. So, close in taste, but disappointing. Also, only half of the candies were coated. Unless I hear from the sender with some explanation of how these arrived in the state they did and receive both a discount and assurances there will be no repeat, I will not order these again. So sad when memories are so elusive when you try to replicate the original that you so loved.

I used to get a similar product from Russell Stover and they were so creamy and fresh. I found these and ordered them for Christmas for my husband as we haven't been able to find the Russell Stover version for a long time and was so excited to try these. They tasted like they were years old and I was so disappointed. I am sure they are wonderful if you get them from the actual Fannie May store..but from Amazon who knows how long they have been there. Would love to try them fresh to see if they compare. I wish I could find the Russell Stover ones but wonder if they stopped making them.

These used to be exceptionally good so I bought 3 boxes for the holidays. I opened the first box and tried a piece of each color, chewing thoughtfully, then spit them out. I thought they would be fresh given they had been out of stock when I placed the order but not only were they horribly stale, they tasted like soap and it took hours and a LOT of milk to get the nasty taste out of my mouth. I opened a 2nd box and some of the green ones were sideways and not completely coated - they looked an absolute mess. Threw all 3 boxes out or would have included a photo. Buyer Beware!
