This is the only hand cream that seems to help with cracks or cuts on hands. Very good moisturiser.

If anyone was to open my bathroom cabinet, they would think my hobby was collecting handcreams. 30 years of nursing has played havoc on my hands so I think of myself as quite the connoisseur when it comes to hand cream. The scent is very subtle which is good for those that are affected by heavily scented moisturisers. The cream is fairly thick but it absorbs into the hands very easily. It doesn't leave your hands greasy like some but there is a definite tackiness to my skin after use. This can be felt against my mobile screen when composing this review. It does leave the skin on the back of my hands very soft immediately after use and this lasts usually until I wash my hands again. I have found that it makes my palms strangely feel a bit tight but I overcome this by using a different handcream that doesn't have as long a lasting moisturising effect as this Aveena. Not having sensitive skin, I can't comment on its use on it. Overall, a good hand cream for hands abused by years of nursing.

This nice compact tube is perfect for keeping in your handbag so it's always with you when you need it. A little goes a long way too! No more dry hands after washing them. It sticks enough to not rub off as soon as you've applied it, without leaving your skin feeling tacky. Unperfumed, so there's no irritation to sensitive skin. Great quality product, recommended by my Doctor, at a reasonable price.

I have very mild eczema which results in very dry skin and my finger ends often crack open and bleed, making it very painful to touch anything or pick anything up. I have used Aveeno cream before and have kept a bottle of Aveeno lotion on the bedside table for many years but have often found, with the lotion especially, that it hurts when applying it and then afterwards my finger ends throb and hurt for a while, sometimes all night. After reading the reviews I decided to give this a try because of the 'intense relief' promise and because I imagined that I would use a lot of it, I bought three tubes. When the parcel arrived, I was quite surprised at how small it was. On opening, I found that the tubes were much smaller than I had expected; the tubes of Aveeno cream I usually get from the supermarket look nearly twice as big. I didn't think they would last very long, but soon discovered that I don't need to put much of it on, a small squeeze results in a worm of about one inch and covers both hands front and back perfectly (after applying, hold your hands in the air for 30 seconds to allow it to 'dry out' a bit; this stops the stickiness). It even, as it says in the blurb and they are quite correct, keeps working after hand washing, which will make it last longer; I am still using the same tube after three weeks and I apply it three times a day, once after each meal. One tube has replaced the lotion beside the bed and now no more painful finger ends during the night; in fact, since I started using it, no more cracked, bleeding and painful fingers at all. I cannot sing the praises of this product highly enough. On the downside, if you can call it that, if you put too much on your hands may feel a bit tacky for a while, but I am happy to put up with that because of the benefits. Great product, it works! For people who have bad eczema with itching, I have found that applying this after washing the affected part works wonders.

I love all aveeno products it maybe a little more expensive but it's worth every penny.

I get dry hands quite regularly particularly after swimming and doing the washing up etc. So I tend to want something that absorbs quickly when I need it, doesn't leave me feeling greasy, doesn't stink and doesn't irritate my skin. I handle a lot of electronics so one of my pet peeves is having oily skin - it can start to leave marks! I've tried a lot of hand creams and I settled on a favourite a while back, which was Neutragena's for sensitive skin. I found it was fairly non-greasy and moisturising. I started using this hand cream after a friend recommended an Aveeno bath oil for my babies when they were going through chicken pox. I'd never heard of the brand (ok, ok I live under a rock) and when I told my friend, she laughed and recommended the hand cream. I'm a sucker for recommendations so I went ahead and tried it and have been hooked. It claims to moisturise for 24-hours (clinically proven no less!) - I can't verify that personally but it does last me hours. I do find myself using it twice or more per day, with a generous dose, depending on what I'm doing. It makes my skin feel great. I've had comments from my wife about softer hands and they feel more pleasant to the touch for myself too. It doesn't irritate my skin - I've had some hand creams that will make the backs of my hands and my wrists flare up. It doesn't smell. It absorbs quickly. I go through about a tube a month, which is fine for me but as it's a little on the dearer side you may want to factor that in with your usage.
