Unleash your inner monster and trick-or-treat your way into a connection with the most magical and scary night of the year: Halloween! Festivals of the Dead like Halloween have been celebrated for thousands of years across many different world cultures. They serve to honor those who have passed and to celebrate death as a natural part of life and an opportunity to welcome in a new beginning. During Samhain, the ancient Celtic festival from which Halloween originates, the veil between this world and the next was believed to be at its thinnest and so since the very beginning, Halloween has been an occasion for effective and potent divination―a chance to connect with "the other side" or get a glimpse into your future. Now you can harness the eerie power of Halloween every night of year, encountering black cats, vampires, zombies, witches, werewolves, jack-o-lanterns, skeletons, mummies and characters from the Mexican Day of the Dead tradition (including Lady de los Muertos), exquisite candy skulls, and more! Each of the 36 richly illustrated cards has an accompanying meaning in the guidebook featuring rhyming couplets like those used in ancient storytelling as well as a message of divination for you based on an aspect of Halloween tradition. Review: Ghoulishly Gorgeous! - I was a bit concerned about the one review that said it had a lot of skulls thinking that it might not have much variety and was so happy when that was not the case... this is NOT a cheap / boring deck for quality! Oh my gosh, this Halloween deck is absolutely stunning. First off, just getting the small reference book that comes with the set it worth the purchase price alone - it was a delightful one-two hour read in to the symbols and imagery associated with Halloween and where different traditions came from. It also has a simple dedication ceremony and two card spreads with explanations for beginners in it. The oracle cards have a semi-gloss finish and are fairly durable to hold. Every card is detailed and fun to look at, has a title of what the image is of, and has a "cheat sheet" type of short phrase at the bottom of to remind you of what the object or character on it is supposed to represent. The backs of the cards are black with gray symbols such as jack-o-lanterns, ghosts, and bats. I'm currently using my deck at Halloween parties for entertainment and guests have absolutely been drawn to them. Both adults and children enjoy the highly detailed pictures and appreciate the story telling / facts that the cards enable you to pull in while reading. The kids don't seem to mind the content and I have not had any complaints from more religious guests as, unlike tarot, this deck is purely related to Halloween and does not have a Devil card in it which might offend them. Overall this deck is well worth the money and would hopefully be expanded in to a full complementary tarot deck with other creatures such as a swamp monster, banshee, bat, coffin, etc. I'm sure it's going to be one of my new favorite Halloween traditions to enjoy and feel strongly that anyone else who loves the holiday will thoroughly enjoy this set! Review: My New Fav Oracle deck. OUTSTANDING Art - For Starters- i have 10+ Oracle and Tarot Decks. so this deck exceeded my expectations by a milestone and is great using for Halloween time. CARD STOCK- the card stock is great. thick, durable for rough shufflers and the print doesnt effect how you grab them. THE ART- so the art is just gorgeous, i couldnt ask for anything more. the meanings behind the cards you choose are easy to remember and theres clarifications under the title of each card which is awesome. Its a great beginner deck in Oracle. i love how to the point everything is. and meaningful everything is. 10/10 would reccomend for yourself and as gifts for the Holiday season <3

Beautiful gorgeous deck!
I loved these cards, but I've been reading cards for 50 years. I started very young. The book gives you an idea of what each card means, but you need to really figure it out for your self. This is great, teaches you to rely on your self and not the book. It came easy to me but some won't like it. In reality you don't need a book, go with what you feel is best. It's what an experienced reader does anyway.

I was not disappointed in the least
This is my second oracle card purchase, and my first deck by Stacey Demarco. I did get a chance to see a little preview of these cards, and heard a few positive reviews from respected and experienced readers on YouTube before I decided to order them. I was not disappointed in the least. The deck is darker (in design and color, but not necessarily with their messages). But the colors in them are vibrant, and the artwork is pleasing to the eyes. I like them so much that I wish she had provided more than 36 of them! I am, and always have been, a huge fan of Halloween and anything to do with autumnal imagery, so this deck evokes many fond memories and feelings going back to my childhood celebrating the season. But this is also a serious divination tool. It goes further than just the modern pop-culture images of today, and Ms. Demarco has done a fabulous job of detailing the history behind the holiday. I know there has been a criticism of her choice to do that, right here in the reviews, and a complaint about how she "goes on and on about the wicca stuff way too much, without much focus on the meanings of the cards." ( I am quite certain I am paraphrasing here, but one can get the drift). She's not just droning on about something irrelevant for no reason. In order to understand much of the symbolism and the intent of the deck, one should understand the history and cultural significance behind her artistic choices. As a side note on that, Samhain, the old Celtic holy day, is celebrated by more than a few pagan traditions, not just Wicca. There is also a card referencing Dia De Los Muertes, a Mexican celebration of Death. I found that most of the explanations of the meanings behind the cards to be adequate, and the few that seem sparse are not a big deal to me. I figure that I can explore those cards on my own and dig up some research on the symbolism and stories behind them, as well as intuitively discern my own meanings. Any gracious oracle creator would not mind this, IMO. After all, here interpretations are just that, her own. The simple spreads offered in the booklet seem great for beginners, and the "jack-o'-lantern" spread is a fun offering that would delight both reader and client during the Halloween/Samhain season. This deck also would lend itself beautifully to shadow work as well, with many cards holding messages pertaining to inner growth and perspectives. Lastly, there is the issue of "too many skulls" represented in this deck. Well, first, the author makes it very clear that Samhain/Halloween, etc. is about DEATH, and while there are many images and symbols used around the world to convey that idea, you have to admit that the skeleton and skull are both quintessentially equated with death. That being said, I don't believe that the skull is "too repetitive" in this deck, because one of the themes being explored here is that death is transformative as well as transient, a doorway to another beginning. Maybe some find skulls to be morbid, but I do not. A matter of taste, I guess. Overall, I find this work to be well thought out, and the art professionally done. The cardstock is of good quality, the cards are a bit on the glossy side but I like them that way. I love how the box itself is sturdy and a pleasure to look at. It is a great box for storage if you don't plan to put it in a bag of its own. The only complaint I have is that the book is a bit thin, and I wish she could have added a few more cards, exploring a bit more with modern imagery and delving into the roots of that. I will definitely be using these cards a lot, and not just on Halloween.

I resonate much more with oracle cards than with tarot
I’m a clairvoyant, which means I sense and see spiritual energy. Sometimes it will translate like a picture in my mind, other times it may play out like a little scene or movie, and sometimes I literally see people walking around through walls or what have you with my very own eyes. While I never incorporate “props” such as cards or crystals into my readings, I have, on a personal level, always been fascinated by the imagery of the tarot and the stories it tells, which made it all the more frustrating that it didn’t resonate with me on a spiritual level. My husband-to-be, who is a bit more in-tune with the earth’s elements whereas I tend to specialize in what is to come once you leave it, recently introduced me to the idea of oracle cards. He has found some success and solace in the messages the cards have presented to him, and so I thought I’d give them a try for myself. I picked out a deck that “spoke” to me – in this case, a fall/Halloween theme since that’s always been my favorite season – and I have to say, I’m pretty pleased so far. What I love about this deck is that I can draw a card and almost immediately create an entire narrative or meaning behind the image that’s actually relevant to the posed question or issue at hand. Whenever I try to read with tarot I am constantly consulting a guidebook and trying to reconcile the traditional meaning of the symbolism with the intuition I’m feeling in my gut, which are often at odds with one another, and it tends to become fairly disastrous all around, lol. Upon drawing an oracle card, the meaning comes flowing out of my brain very organically. That’s not to say my interpretations always match up completely with the meaning the author has laid out in the accompanying guidebook, but there’s usually come overlap and the fact I feel anything at all about them is a huge plus for me. I find oracle cards often support the feelings I may already have in the back of my mind about a matter, whether it be my own or someone else’s, and have given me the confidence to explore these issues further or out loud without looking like a complete idiot, as corny as that might sound. About this deck specifically, I have no complaints. The cards are a good size, printed on a sturdy semi-glossy stock, and the art itself is captivating with a healthy array of Halloween-themed imagery ranging from the mystical to the macabre. (A lot of other reviewers here seem perplexed as to why there is no representation of a bat, which admittedly is a little curious but certainly not worth docking any points over, in my opinion.) The included guidebook doesn’t go terribly in-depth and gives more background about how the images play into the traditions of Halloween itself rather than their importance in the context of a spread, but as I said, I’m usually able to extract my own meaning during a reading without the added validation of whether I’m “right” or “wrong.” So, while this deck may not float everybody’s boat, as a beginner I’m really enjoying them and am rather amazed at how much more I resonate with oracle cards than tarot cards. Even as a psychic I find myself rolling my eyes at a lot and don’t much care for gimmicks or props, but if nothing else I’m now convinced there just may be something to this after all. Who knew? Really nice vibe for my scorpio nature.
These immediately felt really good to me. I like the artwork a lot. I skim through the artwork while cleansing a new deck, but I don't read through the cards until I pull them so I can't comment on all messages, but the first one I pulled felt more like "helpful tips" than an oracle message, but I still enjoyed it very much and I think I will learn to use the messages more and more. Bonus: the cards are good quality but very easy to shuffle. I don't have another deck that fits my hands and is so easy to handle right off the bat. If the aesthetic calls to you, I would encourage you to follow that.

Wonderful cards but HUGE!
This is the first deck of oracle cards I have purchased, though I have a few sets of Tarot decks. I love these Halloween Oracle Cards! The colors & the pictures are wonderful. The book that goes with the cards is well made and helps decipher the meaning of cards very well! My only wish was that the cards were smaller, they are extremely hard to shuffle even with my long fingers and I wear men's sized gloves! Had I known they were going be so large, I might not have purchased.

Excellent deck
This is a beautifully designed deck with wonderful artistry and very accurate. The cards are very solid with a matte finish, easy to shuffle and straight to the point without waffling. The guidebook is descriptive in its meanings and the cards are a nice size and hold a very vibrant energy. Definitely worth the money and super quality.

Loved the oracle deck
Loved the oracle deck, very appropriate, great artwork. I could only have wishes for a more in-depth guidebook from Lucy Cavendish.
