will it work with a smartphone ?

Yes, it does work with smartphones, but for that, you do need TRS-TRRS cable (sold separately) as stated in the description. If your smartphone does not have a socket for headphones you will also need an appropriate adaptor for that (i.e. USB C or Lightning to headphones 3.5 mm jack).

What you see in the thumbnail is what you get in the box: x1 Mono shotgun mic x1 Mount 1x 3.5mm Jack 1 x Dead Cat and x1 obligatory packaging and instructional material ...However, if you also want to use the Mic with your mobile phone you will need to purchase an additional cable... the Rode SC7 cable. Just to confirm, will this fit on my Rode lightweight boom pole?

Emm the great thing about this mic is that it can go ontop of a dslr and has a built in anti vibration system. But the sound quality is not great compared to a dedicated shotgun mic. If your using a pole I'd look at an NG2 or Sennheiser Mke600. But if you really want it then yes I just looked and there is a screw thread fitting on the base plate to fix it to a pole.

Will this work on a Panasonic DMC-G6?

I would expect that it would work with this camera as the camera has a 3.5mm external mic socket. The mic has a 3.5mm plug.
