I have ands s7 and volume controls work fine

Does this come with a warranty?

It's one year (rather than other people having to click and then read the warranty looking for the answer like I just did). Seems a bit low to me for the cost to be honest.

The product description specifically says these are "bass driven", but several reviews here say they are not. Is this simply a subjective thing?

"Bass driven" has no specific meaning or definition, it's a subjective thing. I have had these headphones for a couple of years now and they are the best sounding and most comfortable in-ear phones I've ever had.

Why is it that many manufacturers and sellers have nothing to say about the connection plug. mobile phone 3.5mm jack plugs do not work in many players

You will find that unless there is a manufacturing fault - they ALL do "work" - i.e. play audio. Just that in some cases, the inline controls on a pair of headphones (this or other makes) do not work. This is because there is no industry standard in how the 3.5mm jack connector is wired. Have a search on TRS & TRRS 3.5mm jack connections.
