I am no economist, just a John Doe with passing interest in the direction of the economy particularly in the wake of the 2008 'crash.' As far as I can read, The Money Bubble is well written and in approachable language. It also, to my poorly informed brain, appears to be well researched by a pair of 'money' people who claim to know about these things - i.e. economics.Now global economics, we are told, is a devilishly difficult subject to predict and according to Messrs Turk and Rubino, the world economy is in such a mess - quantitative easing, low interest rates, near stagnant growth - everything in the world economy by now (November 2015) should have hit the buffers. It hasn't. Yet? Or am I premature? Are they premature in their forecast? Does it matter? Yes, big time!If my understanding is correct, our children, our children's children and their children will be in hock grovelling around in economic limbo (or much worse) for the whole of their lives because of the greed and irresponsibility of those controlling the global economic machine. That much said, for all our sakes, I do hope that Turk and Rubino's predictions are wrong.Notwithstanding the foregoing criticism, theirs is a book which should be read by everyone. Each of us has an individual responsibility and duty as a citizen to protect society and democracy, knowledge and vigilance being the primary defensive tools. Now, this might seem like a plug for their book whereas it is a call to all who appreciate our imperfect society to wise up. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I thought this book was fantastic for beginner and intermediate investors *by A***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 July 2015* I thought this book was fantastic for beginner and intermediate investors. If you've read many books on the banking system, commodities and the history of gold and fiat currency you might find that this is just a revision of that. However, when I bought this I was clueless about these topics and found this book amazing. Honestly I read it twice in a week and didn't get bored at all. They make a great case (with data) for the collapse of the dollar at least and why the tried and tested currency of gold/silver is more important than ever at least in the last 100 years. However I would take it with a pinch of salt because as far as I know these guys are precious metals merchants so they are biased in their exuberance for a bullish future in precious metals. In my case I do agree with them though and they back that exuberance with data, so overall 100% for this book. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Worth reading, but be cautious *by A***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 December 2016* The book is worth reading because it is very clear in its explanation of the poor macroeconomic choices our governments are making.The part in which it provides investment advice (which can be summarised in: buy tangible gold and silver, if possible hold it in more than one country), however, should be taken with caution. The book presents very good reasons on why a massive financial crisis is coming. However, it does not do enough to determine when it will come. This is always a difficult question in finance but there is a huge difference between a crisis occurring tomorrow and a crisis occurring in 15 years. The book suggests the crisis had a good chance to occur 1-3 years after its publication, so in 2014-2016. We already know that is wrong.
