Can you mark 45 degree cuts

Hi Henry, Absolutely, you can mark 45-degree cuts with our famous Speed Square! We manufactured it as a right triangle with that use in mind - its hypotenuse (the long side of the triangle) is an exact 45-degree angle. Thanks for your interest in our square! The Swnason Team

Which size (7 or 12) would be best for a re-roofing project?

Typically a framing square would be the most helpful with a roofing project. But if I had to choose one or the other, I guess the 12. While 7 is standard, it will not span the short dimension of the shingle.

Does the ruler also have units of measurement of centimeters?
