Superb Assam !
I consider myself a tea aficionado, having tried many various teas around the world. Assam is one of my favorite black teas and this tea brings out some of the best notes that only Assam can deliver. The initial brew is pretty light in colour and fully develops after 3 minutes +, the nose opens up around the same mark and this one has a very distinct one but not overpoweringly fragrant. The first few sips are easy on the tannins, I prefer strong black tea, given the amount used these leaves get pretty strong but not enough to cause a tongue tie or bitterness. The richness and maltiness arrived shortly after , they were also balanced, which I found very pleasant. I dont use milk , only a slice of lemon now then and this FTGFOP1 complemented it beautifully. After the first cup I knew this is going to be a winner and I am glad I went for a large bag at the beginning at a risk, as this has been my daily driver for the past few months along side one of the main competitors here on Amazon based in London. I dont believe in tea bags as drinking sawdust is not my idea of a good time and it looks like this tea is superb value for a FTGFOP1 grade.

Well, it's an improvement over an English Breakfast tea bought at same time
This listing contains a lot of different teas, and I am reviewing the Daily Assam Summer Black Tea, 454 grams. I used Yorkshire Tea bags for years, but want to switch to loose, as creates less waste: tea bags contain plastic, so cannot be composted whole. I am not a tea connoiseur, I just want a decent strength cuppa.. I bought this and T2 English Breakfast loose tea, which is horrible, very weak and poor quality. Buying this larger amount works out a bit cheaper per 100 gram than the English Breakfast, and while I would not call this a premium rate tea, it's got decent flavour and strength. I would not exactly call it "strong, malty and rich" either, but it's drinkable, if you use enough. Leaves are a decent size, you can see actual leaves, not the crumbs of the English Breakfast, and while this does contain some stalks or woody bits, not nearly as much. 3rd pic is magnified x 2. Using 2 heaped teaspoons per cup (and maybe at least one for the pot if you're making a larger amount) and brewing for about 4 - 5 minutes gives me a tea approaching the strength of 1 red Yorkshire Tea bag per cup. But definitely not stronger or better flavour than good tea bags, even the pyramid shaped ones give a comparable (and slightly stronger) tea. So it's not "builder's tea" at that amount, but a medium strong tea, and flavour I rated 4 stars - it's decent for this price, but could be better. I drink tea quite strong, but not really strong, with milk, not loads, but more than a splash, and no sugar. This would also work black, maybe better than with milk, due to seeming on mild side for an Assam. If I can find nothing better, I might buy this again, but am hoping to find something that's better than tea bags, without paying the earth. I wish I had bought loose Yorkshire Gold - similar price at £9.99 for 250 grams, and I suspect, gives a stronger and more flavourful brew.. if that proves to be the case, I won't be buying this again. I will likely mix this with a stronger tea, to use it up. Bear in mind, too, that this is quite a big bag (454 gram), so if like me, you're not hugely impressed, you'll be drinking this for a while, unless you consume a LOT of tea. Now having bought 2 loose teas, I am a bit more convinced by Yorkshire Tea's claim to blend the finest teas for their bags. I imagine cost is also a factor, but maybe the sort of tea a lot of people drink in UK is not actually what you normally get from any single type (like Assam) tea, but requires a blend for strength and flavour?

I am changing my previous review, because I ended throwing it in the Bin where it belongs. STALE TEA. I’m quite disappointed because the reviews for this Assam tea led me to believe that it was a superb Assam tea The quest for a decent Assam tea continues. NOT RECOMMENDED

A very very delicious Assam tea
In my country tea is a national drink; we usually drink it every day, couple of times. And always drink it as pure as possible; brewing properly only the fresh tea leaf, without milk, sugar etc. So I naturally sensitive to its taste. I found Vahdam from the internet by searcing a good Assam and just wanted to try. Until Vahdam I was drinking Kusmi Assam and The East India Company Assam, they were nice but Vahdam’s Assam is so delicious and has utterly different taste by far. It is rich of flavour. The packaging and the attention of the seller made me smile. Buying Assam from a local company is also very important to me. Here, I read some negative reviews about the taste and can’t believe that we taste the same tea. Probably the brewing process is very important and makes all the difference for the taste and the robustness. If you want to brew it with Turkish way, you should wait about at least 20-25 minutes for brewing time and to serve, pour about quarter or half of the cup with brewed tea ( it depends how much robustness you desire) and top up the rest of the cup with hot water.

Great tea. Terribly wasteful packaging and shrinking size.
I have been buying this Assam tea for some years and it is delicious. Beware, the price has gone up and the size has gone down - a good dose of shrinkflation, not advertised. One star gone. What really annoys me is the hugely wasteful packaging. It used to come in a sealed, resealable vacuum pack. Great. It now comes in a vacuumed, not resealable bag, in a box, which has inside another bag and separate labels. Why? It is so incredibly wasteful. Another star gone. Hence the dropped rating. I approached the company for comment, but they didn’t get back to me.
