Samsonite Stryde 2 Hardside Expandable Luggage with Double Spinner Wheels, Medium Glider, Brushed Graphite

Very sturdy. I had the original which was slightly larger on width but the same size in length and height. The old one lasted many years and traveled all over the world. The only issue was the expander zipper would not close and the wheels started to wear down. The new one seems as well built, the lock is now at the top versus side which is nice and the handle is improved with a full rubber cover. It has just finished it's second trip and no problem. The case is made of material that is tough and can take a beating. I have not seen any major issues with scratches, though I had the black and now the silver color. Each set of wheels are tilted in on the new one which seems to provide a smoother ride. Time will tell if it will hold up as well but so far so good. One issue people may run into is the handle is wide which may prevent hanging bags on that have straps to go over the handles. A back pack is tight but fits around the handle.

I bought my first of this series with the goal of minimizing the appearance of wear over time and optimizing the capacity. It fit the bill, I cannot detect any obvious abrasions or imperfections after several years. So I bought another one. Defintiely light weight when empty, but securely holds 50 lbs with integrated TSA locks. The wheels perform well even on irregular surfaces. I look forward to not being embarrassed by the appearance of my luggage while I am waiting for it to fail mechanically.

I took my suitcase to Europe and it was easy to detect when it was on the baggage claim. It’s shape is unique.

This suitcase lives up to the great reviews. I got the large 31” size and checked it from DC to Tokyo (through connections in Dallas and JFK). I then traveled by small plane, car, and on all kinds of trains all over Japan even through snow and never got one scratch, dent, or mark of any kind on it. It looks brand new and the wheels navigated over every surface. Even packed as heavy as I did (see below). Navigating it across train gaps, I was able to lift it by both handles and nothing broke. The color is exactly like it is pictured and the gray stood out in a sea of black. The hanging aparatus worked extremely well, too, and my hanging clothes didn’t get any wrinkles. Two comments on the suitcase: you have to make sure the hanging side is buttoned or that side could spill all your items when you open it. And the suitcase is heavy even when it is not packed. Fully packed with winter clothes on a 2.5 week trip, it weighed 55 pounds. I got it down to 48.5 lbs to fly and had extra room. With the expansion, I could have packed a lot more if I had not been flying.

I like this luggage and this is the 3rd piece I’ve purchased. I always use the same combination and did so with my medium sized piece as well. On the first leg of my trip, the luggage opened with combination as expected, but after returning, the lock will not open with the same combination. There is no default key, it appears unbroken, but will not open with the same combination. How is this possible? I seriously doubt that the TSA agent changed my code so it appears to be malfunctioning which is a serious inconvenience. I’m going to contact Samsonite and hopefully they have an option to correct this because it’s unacceptable for the lock to stop working after 2 flights.

This suitcase appears complete and accurate but there wasn't a card included for registration, I then checked under the fabric of the lining and nothing was there contrary to the manufacturer's website. While this may be a minor issue I am concerned if this is a legitimate product or not. Did Amazon sell me a knock off?

luggage is great but they sent wrong color and I don't have time to change.

Quality is very nice truly rigid durable finish looks premium ,not something found with all their cases . along with quality wheels handles zips etc A bit of research told me a Brompton would fit in this case and technically their right but only just , with some considerable force and damage to the case itself . I can’t exaggerate how tight it is . I was absolutely certain initially it wouldn’t fit to this day I’m not sure how I got the seat post in. It got my bike from London to Japan but after six weeks and several international detours it was visibly bulging and literally bursting at the zips So I would absolutely recommend it as a suitcase but it’s not a viable longterm solution for transporting a Brompton internationally discretely

It a perfect size for travel , easy to spot when traveling

I’ve just purchased this case but need help with unlocking it as it arrived with its 2 tags locked in their holes and I don’t know how I’m meant to release them. Should there be a key as well to release them. I’ve checked all the packaging

Nothing to dislike. Samsonite is one of the best brands in luggage. I had my eyes set on this luggage for a l ong time and I finally have it. There are 2 pockets inside that's really practical for extra small clothings like socks and underwear that you want to grab without having to search the whole luggage. Built sturdy, zippers glide smoothly. BTW. This is a medium size strider. I'll probably purchase the large strider if availabe at Amazon. Thank you Samsonite.
